Check the RFE consolidation spreadsheet. Usually it's one or more from the following: - employment letter - W2s - proof of continued legal status (from days on F1 or H1B) - photos - birth certificate(s) - marriage related stuff (if filing for a spouse)

Actually, it seems like there is a quite a few people who got I485 RFEs and were at some point in time F1 students. Makes you wonder if there's any correlation. Usually, F1s would go to OPT, from there to H1B, from there to I485... pretty straight immigration history, or so I'd think...

I guess you show your visas, I-94s, change of status notices, I-20(if you were a student). I mean you can only go so far. On a different note, can someone tell me why do RFEs get sent to lawyers, but not to individuals? Every other AOS associated document (receipt notices, EAD, APs, etc..)...
