That is crap. how did you learn abt it ? online status or you rec'd a official mail? Is your sponsoring company based in VSC ?

The VSC's off processing date is Jan 02 which is after your RD/ND.

My company used to be in Virginia. 2 Years ago it was bought by another company in UK, but the company retained its offices in Virginia. 8 months ago, the company was sold again and bought by a company based in Chicago.

Now I am confused and disoriented on what to do.

I am not sure why TSC did that to me. I just wrote some simple letters asking them to look into my case.

Thanks for your reply.

Actual message

On February 19, 2004, we transferred your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status to an office in VERMONT SERVICE CENTER for processing.

office in VERMONT SERVICE CENTER

Does that mean local service center in VSC area or VSC itself?

No idea

We are yet to receive the notice. I feel the transfer is unjustified specially after 2.75 years. I am not sure if I retain SRC number with RD/ND or get new ones starting with EAC and have to wait a long time.

Stuckintexas,
Where do you live ? If you live in VSC area, they might have sent your application to local office for processing. May be this is a new trend ?! Keep us posted.

Texas

Since I applied for my 485, I lived in Texas state only. May be 485 needs to be filed where the sponsoring company is.

On 29th Jan my case was transferred to VSC from TSC. Got the transfer notice from TSC stating that they transferred the case for speed processing.

Called the National Service Center, they asked us to call after 30 days of transfer.

Did you find out with your lawyer with your lawyer why they transferred your case.

RD 09/01
ND 10/01
FP 03/03
Transferred to VSC 01/29/04

Stuckintexas,

When did you write your letters to TSC? Are you sure they trigger your case for transfer? What did your lawyer say? Are you sure your case was transferred to VSC not some CIS offices in Virginia? Now I am scared to write the letters to TSC. I have almost the same timeline as you and my RD is even 6 days earlier than you. Hopefully you will hear some clarification soon.

transfer of case to Vermont

This happened to me with I-140 processing. Do not worry just an effort my TSC to lessen the backlog of cases. You will be processed at normal or even higher speed.

Michal.

No I live in Texas area. I filed I-140 in Texas. Shortly before it was siupposed to be processed it was transfered to VSC.

Yes, I live in MA since Oct'00. Changed addresses 3 times. I used to work for Company A(GC Sponsor) since 1998, joined Company B just before applying 485 with Company A's permission in 2001. Laid off Company B in late 2002, currently working Company C with the same job profile and salary mentioned in the Labour.

Joining back Company A from next month with the same salary and job title.

Never out of job.

I think I'm a potential RFE case or interview. Waiting for them sooner or later.

There is some reason for transferring your case as you live in MA. I can't understand why they did it to me when all along I lived in Texas and never changed the job. Instaed of transferring, they should have approved or RFEd.

Yet to get the notice. Attorney and company paralegal are also waiting to see what the notice says.

I think they would've transferred the case for speed processing. But the question is again how long does it take from here.

Stuckintexas,

The reason for your case transfer is your user name. To prove that you are wrong, your case is transferred to VSC instead of "Stuckintexas". :) :) What do you think?

I'm in the same boat now. My case had a status changed to "RFE issued: 2 weeks ago. Never received the RFE. Then, a week ago, the status changed to "case transferred to service center in VT", same as the guy who started this thread. My attorney got the official notice today.

Now, the VSC processing date for I-485 is Jan 2002. Will I keep my RD/ND (Jun '01) and get express processing since I'm way before the current processing date? Or will my RD/ND that change to FEB '04 and make me wait another 2-3 years?????
