If you are not in a hurry you can probably save your $1000. You should hear from your I-140 in a month or so, and looking at the current trend I-485 are going very fast. But hey, paying $1000 almost guarantees you to get the green card in the mail in a month.

You will not get the card. You need to call them and update your address. USPS does not forward USCIS mail.

I'm not sure if I understand your question but in the I-485 phase the USCIS does not care about how long you worked, they mainly care that you were never out of status in the past. You should be fine. Maybe you'll get your approval tomorrow!
