    LC through Sprint

Kansas congressman Dennis Moore will be meeting with Sprint employees on April 8 (see PinPoint). This may be a good time to inform him of our situation.

    LC through Sprint

It is worth a shot, but I am hesistant as my lawyer has repeatedly told me not to go directly to the DOL. My lawyer tells me that she checks up with the DOL each month, but the DOL does not give a straight answer when asked about Sprint cases. Also, since the employer is petitioning the DOL...

I think Overland Park senator should help us(we are in his constituency). First step should be to check with our attorneys if they are ok with us doing this now, or in 3/4 more months when we know that 2004 looks unpromising as well.

Check this site out: http://free-immigration-help.com/ks1.html#OVE In theory, senators assist people in their state in the immigration process. It's worth a shot I think.

Contacting senator Has anyone started the effort of contacting the Senator? If not, would the folks on this forum be interested in starting an effort to do so? It's been too long, we have to know soon whether this process will end or not.

    July-revalidation applicants tracking

PP received! SL date : July 23 DC date : Aug 24 Approval : Oct 30 Received (FEDEX) : Nov 3 Everything looks ok on the new visa, the only question I have is : What does the "Issuing Post" entry read on the visa? Mine says "DEPARTMENT", does anyone have it reading "DEPARTMENT OF STATE"?

    July-revalidation applicants tracking

A friend whose SL date was July 23rd called up the DC office, they told him that his app was received in DC on Aug 26th, and it will take 12 to 14 weeks from the Aug 26th date. Looks like we are all in for long wait.

    July-revalidation applicants tracking

Wow .. what that means is if our visas do not get revalidated, we have to avoid passing thru UK to get to our home countries.

    July-revalidation applicants tracking

Has anyone noticed the huge gap in DC dates corresponding to SL dates between Jul 19 and Jul 24th?

    LC through Sprint

Yes, that's what I have heard as well. From a state perspective, Sprint is probably the largest employer in Kansas and the DOL should be a bit lenient with Sprint applications, but you never know. As I mentioned before, I am keeping other options open.

    LC through Sprint

It depends - I think it is happening for most big sized tech companies which have a lot of H1s on staff.

    LC through Sprint

FYI folks, I spoke to my attorney today, they told me that so far they have not received any Sprint labor approvals for over 6+ months. However, they said that they have also not received any denials or NOFs. Basically they are just saying "wait and watch".
  13. Q

    LC through Sprint

As far as I know, this phenomenon has been going on for almost a year, and most people that I know in companies outside Sprint are still in limbo, waiting for their LCs to clear. I think what happens is that the DOL freezes the apps for a while, and just when it is ready to reopen the cases...
  14. Q

    LC through Sprint

Even if the cases were remanded to the state, our attorney(s) would have been notified, which does not seem to be the case. It just looks like our cases are "frozen indefinitely", like most other big tech firms who are laying off people left and right.

    LC through Sprint

Also, my LC has been with DOL since April. From the posts on this forum however, I have seen some folks whose LC has been pending since Sept 2002, and that's what is worrying me..
  16. Q

    LC through Sprint

re: processing dates In theory, you can do the entire GC process without an H1. In practice however, it is possible to start LC (state and fed) in parallel without H1, and once the LC process is done, do the H1 transfer and get on the payroll of the other company.
  17. Q

    LC through Sprint

re: processing dates Guys, I work for Sprint and my RIR app has been sitting with the Chicago DOL for quite a while. I am seriously considering applying through someone else for LC with all the uncertainity here. Anyone else considering something similar?
