ok. so we finally got the denial letter for dad (dated jun 28). moms case has still not been updated on the website.
reason for denial is being out of country for more than 6 months. there was a trip in between where they were out of US.
explanation = they drove out of US via buffalo to...
how exactly is the number of days absent counted....
as i understand..i cannot be out of US for my than 900 days in a period of 5 years.
and each trip must be less than 6 months.
so if i leave for 5 months early 2010 and then again for 2 months end of 2010, is this counted as 7 months or 2...

my parents had their interview a few days ago in tampa. dad was granted pre-oath citizenship (he's a sr citizen with disability so didn't have to take the civics test).
however, my mother passed the civics test/interview but her letter says ' decision has not been made'.

arrived in canada from abroad and will enter US tomorrow. in the process have lost my green card.
wondering if it will be a problem at immigration and more importantly at the interview next week in USA for citizenship.

sorry about rambling. yes they are in the middle of the citizenship process. the interview is next month. (and no they didnt apply for re-entry permit as this is unexpected delay due to illness)
am worried that disclosing a fatal disease might disqualify them from getting the citizenship...
parents have already postponed their interview 2 times and might have to do so again.
father has been diagnosed with cancer abroad.
just wondering if postponing so many times can have an adverse affect on the process and also the trip abroad could be extended to over 6 months.
