Traffic tickets and naturalization (threads merged)

It is sad to hear that the n-400s are being denied due to not disclosing traffic tickets/citations. I have been seriously suggesting in my previous posts that it is better to disclose these tickets rather than not. The n-400 is very clear "have u ever been arrested , cited etc etc " .But any...

    Interview experiences with arrest records?

There are many posts here that share experiences like that. I personally know people who got approved the same day. It depends on variety of factors what is that arrest for , how long ago , what was the outcome , who the IO is , which jurisdiction , whether it a felony or mis, traffic arrest ...

Thank you wantmygcnow, I think you get the point. I was scared to death just like you because I had some traffic tickets but my IO was good and said you were honest and it not an issue it all. He didnt even ask for the proof (even though I carried it ) . Best of luck to all , waiting to...

    Mentioning traffic violation??

Vorpal I am sorry , I dont have a case where the case was denied for not disclosing the tickets (especially traffic tickets). You win on the argument and I concede. But there are thousands of cases and enough case law where the information was not disclosed on the form (based on legal...

    Mentioning traffic violation??

I'd agree with Vorpal that you might get into a bad situation like nyc_newbie but you may get into a worse situation like not disclosing and USCIS using the misrepresentation of facts to deny the n-400 which will be hard to overturn even in a federal court. The choice to disclose is a personal...

    Mentioning traffic violation??

I agree with wantmygcnow. Makes perfect sense to disclose it rather than get sucked into technical /legal details. And most imp. every case , DO and Jurisdiction is different, so to assume that one persons situations apply to another are incorrect. I'd disclose it just for peace of mind

first of all let me apologize to everyone specially to Vorpal and his friends . The point I have been trying to make on this forum has been : 1) That you cant hide or not disclose any citation however minor as far as USCIS is concerned . It is my view and most folks take this as a...

Here is link to appeal of an n-400 that was denied by the DAO for not disclosing the tickets and DWLS . Read carefully what the judge says. The tickets per se are not an issue but not disclosing it amounts to lack of good moral character i.e. lying...
