My name has been mis-spelt on the EAD. I talked to my lawyer and she says that I can use the EAD and explain that the name has been mis-spelt. She says the only way to correct the error is to re-file! Anybody has experience with this?
No Title
the letter said that since my RD was more than 90 days ago, I should be given an EAD and talked about a specific rule (legal no) that allowed it. The key is to be persistent. They WILL eventually give it to u. take ur lawyer\'s tel no along.
A few points to add to other experiences.
1. The location is the cross street of Monterey and Strauffers (Hope I spelt this correct). You will not be able to see the INS nameplate outside office at 5:00 am when its so dark. To further confuse you, the building has "Gold Gym" posters...
In this situation:
1. Ur AP is not valid (\'coz ur I485 is approved)!
2. The passport has not been stamped \'coz u r out of country!
Can you get into the country in such a scenario?
What is the status of the H-1 visa (if u have one)?
the point of the post is that IS IT LEGALLY REQUIRED TO INFORM INS OF
OF AN ADDRESS CHANGE?....CAN YOU GET AWAY WITH NOT DOING THAT? From the posts here, it seems you can, which is good news!...
I am moving into a new house. Do I need to tell INS about it? I have no problem getting mail at the old address (since my roommate is still there for quite some time). SO, I am not going to ask the post office to forward my mail. I have heard a lot of horror stories about change of address!
from my lawyer
Please note that once your AOS is filed, you will abandon that application by
traveling abroad (this includes travel to Canada and Mexico) unless you present
one of the following types of documentation to the INS officer at the port of
entry upon your return:
(1) valid...
i wud not change address...here is a mail from my lawyer..issue with AP/EAD
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT YOU NOT CHANGE YOUR ADDRESS DURING THE AOS PROCESS. PLEASE
try to not change postal addresses at least until you have received your AOS
filing receipt, your Advance Parole (AP) and your Employment...
AP is NOT invalid
Just heard from my lawyer. The AP is NOT invalid until you get the PP stamped. So, even if the 485 gets approved, u can still come with only AP and a valid passport.
do i have to go if only my spouse needs the EAD? GC is being processed in my name....
ssekar, I am surprised. I thought we have to be at the INS office before 4:30 to be able to get in!
