GC sufficient I am replying to my own post as no one else had! I just returned after a visit to canada and all I needed was my GC. No one asked for my passport although I had it with me just in case. Just wanted to let ppl know this.

Hi all, I am a GC holder. I am aware that the GC is sufficient to visit Canada. But would anyone recommend having the passport as well ? Or is the GC card sufficient? Wondering bcoz of higher security measures nowadays. I appreciate the reply. Thanx cricfan :)

re: dheeraj read the earlier postings in this thread... you use the same 485 receipt # to check card status as well. my stamping date in mar 23 and no change in status yet, it may take a few more weeks.

re: Rahdhan, I think you are totally fine. I don't know why people are so worried about this situation, PO will hold your mail when you are on vacation for however long, and they should hold the mail having the GC as well. There are issues only if PO has to FORWARD the mail due to change in...

plastic card ct485 and others, how do u check the card status? do you use the same receipt # that you used for check 485 status? Or does plastic card application have a different receipt #? I checked mine using the 485 receipt # and no change , it says 485 is approved. I got my passport stamped...
