    Date on Green Card

What exactly should be the "Resident since : xx/xx/xx" date? Is it the priority date or the I-485 approval date or date of pp stamping? My card has the I-485 approval date. I met this guy Mr.X at the INS, San Antonio this morning. His card has his priority date on it. The officers at...

How many sheets will be in AP

That is true First copy with photo is the one the IIO will stamp when you re-enter the USA. He will return this sheet to you if you have multiple entry AP. The second copy is supposed to be for the Airlines. You can keep some copies with you (of both sheets). In my experience, the airlines did...

Do I have to worry coming back to US with AP?

No you don\'t ...anyway if you can take your I-485 receipt with you it would prove helpful, although in my travel experience nobody asked for it. Airlines check AP and the INS takes the original AP, stamps it and returns it back to you if you have multiple entry AP. Please check out other...

    How to use Advance Parole

Here is some info 1. When you go out of the country the Airlines has to take your existing I-94. 2. When you return the Airlines are supposed to take the second sheet of the AP (the one without your photo), but in my experience, they did not. Gulf Air in Mumbai and Muscat and American...

    How to use Advance Parole

Copy should suffice I travelled to India on AP recently. All Airlines people just looked at it and returned it to me. At the POE the IIO took the AP, stamped it and returned it to me (because it was multiple entry). No one asked for the I-485 receipt. I suggest keep a copy handy, just in...

Salary Reduction while waiting for I-485 approval

I don\'t think so.... I am no authority on the subject, but as long as you and your company do not mess with the INS until your I-485 is approved, I don\'t think you will face any issue here.

    Just FYI - Plastic Card

If you have been waiting for over 90 days past passport stamping for your plastic card, you might try sending in this form (G-731)to the INS. It does not cost you anything (just a 34c stamp). http://www.ins.usdoj.gov/graphics/formsfee/forms/g-731.htm

    Question about Advance Parole

My experience I came from India. AP was checked in Mumbai and in Paris. No one took any copies or asked for any copies. You need AP only for re-entry. It is the responsibility of the airline to make sure you have the correct papers to enter your destination country.

    Question about Advance Parole

Re-entry on AP AP holders need to go in the "Foreign Nationals" lane. Be sure to fill out the I-94 before landing. Leave the Visa fields blank on the I-94. Enter the A # on the back of the I-94. At Dallas we were only asked for the AP. Nothing else. Doesn\'t hurt to have a copy of the...

485 and travel questions :please help.

No Problem I re-entered the country (at Dallas, TX) on AP, on Jan 13th. Later I found out that my I-485 was approved on Jan 9th. I don\'t think you will have any problem. Have a copy of your I-485 receipt with you (I was not asked for it, but I had it with me). Fill out a I-94 before landing...

Question: IF 485 approved while out of country ...

Nothing special In India, I just had to show the AP to the airlines. I had to show the AP at all transfer points (muscat and Paris in my case). In Dallas, the IIO took the original, stamped it and returned it to me because it was a multiple entry AP. In theory, the airlines are supposed to take...
