Went to Niagara Falls, Canada over the Labor Day weekend. We used the Rainbow bridge crossing both ways.
While going to Canada, it was well past midnight. Only one lane was open and ours was the only car ;-) The officer just asked about the nationality, status in...

Can stay up to 6 months without permission...
They can stay up to 6 months without permission. Beyond that, you need to get some paperwork done. My daughter has been in India for about 10 months now. I know that my parents had to get some paperwork done for her because her stay was more than 6...
Not true for all the states...
For example in New Jersey, the form for residents as well as part time residents is the same, whereas they have a separate form for non-residents.
It is definitely possible that you have to file taxes as a non-resident. For example, we stay in New Jersey, but...
Fully agree!!
Fully agree with octo on this issue. Carrying the physical card on person and risking losing it and going through all the hassle to replace it is not worth it. I don't carry it with me and I doubt if more than even 10% of PRs do.

I was in a similar situation. My H1 visa stamp had expired, so I obtained a transit visa while flying out, and the visa packet was...

Yes it is possible...
Yes, you can still go for CP using AC-140, but not all consulates accept AC-140 applications. I know that Mumbai and Delhi do accept these, but Chennai does not.
You can go to immihelp.com to get all the information, but the gist of it is that you need to file 824 to...
