Denied a job because of Temp Green Card

Gerindo, I'm sorry this happen to you. If you really like the job go back there and explain to them, but if not, then let it go. Maybe this is not the "right" job for you. I wouldn't want to work for someone that is so ignorant to begin with anyway. I don't see the point of suing, in fact I find...

GC lottery service site for 2011!

It's weird. If you want something bad enough, you WILL remember to enter the lottery and it actually pays to do it yourself, you learn how to pay attention to detail, follow through instructions etc.

    getting jobs once in states

^^ I'm not a 100% agree with that because it gives false hopes to people and I have personally experienced that "false hope" too and I wish people told me the truth instead. My good friend totally qualified and been earning over 100K from his last job until he got laid off here in the US. It has...

American dream in the face of credit crunch!

Good luck to everyone! Though I've been here almost 2 years, I also got affected with the current economy climate in the US. I thought I had my dream job last year, but I got laid off from it back in August (actually I got laid off a week after GC was approved), I was devastated to say the...

    getting jobs once in states

^^ That's right, I think it is very heartbreaking when one living abroad and cannot provide to his/her family. America is land of opportunity, but only if you make it your opportunity and sometimes you have to fall hard first before you get up. If you have this in mind, I believe you will make...

    Dv 2009 - Aos Only

This is correct. My brother-in-law employment based GC was like that. He doesn't even received any letter for interview, just biometric and few months later he received the card by mail. But for DV I'm pretty certain that you need to attend the interview.

American dream in the face of credit crunch!

Tell me about it. I've been here in US since April 2007 though officially I received my green card only 2 months ago. In the beginning of 2008, I got a really great full time position in this well known company. But what the heck, right after I got my GC, I got laid off! I guess can't...

    DV2008--AOS only

Maconcita, you dont need to fill anything beside bringing the actual GC and SSN (and passport just in case). And no, your husband cannot do it for you since you have to sign the letter (receipt) that they will print out for you.

The Winners of Past DV-Lottrey programs, What was you education degree?

Maybe..just maybe..the people that applying for the DV mostly university graduate? So for example 2 million ppl applied, 80% university graduate...the 10000 people that being picked therefore have degree? Does that make sense? I don't think USCIS select the winners based on the degree.

    can I apply?

I couldn't see why not. Though I'm a DV2008 winner, I did apply for the DV2009 only because my case number is considered to be in the higher side (obviously I fail to win again heheh)
