When you filed your asylum, which spelling did you use? If you submitted all your USCIS forms with the mispelled last name, I don't think you can ask them to change. You should have used the correct one. Can you get a new passport with the new spelling? You might get some problems at POE.

You are right, you don't need police clearance. The other thing that they say is required is your medical. It's listed there, but some people say that you don't need to submitted at this time.

Your spouse will be fine. First of all, he is a derivative asylee, so he is OK. Second, your asylum is based on country A, so going to country B is not an issue (not even for you).
