NIW for Physicians - Steps to do it yourself.

The VA I work for (Marion, Indiana) is actively looking for psychiatrists and will do the J waiver if necessary. You can contact them directly (or myself for any questions) if anyone is interested. I am doing my J 1 waiver with them (since 2005).If any one does not have anything yet for 2007...

IMG, does that apply only to canadians? I assume every one else has to obtain a an H1B visa "stamp" from an em-bass in the country they are visiting before departing from the US.I understand that if you dont leave the country then you dont need the stamp. Please clarify

NIW for Physicians - Steps to do it yourself.

Sorry for replying late. I am not sure if the local VA needs to provide an additional letter to that from the central VA,but it definitely would not hurt your case,so I would just to be safe. Also the local VA letter may describe more in detail exactly why the job is in the national interest...

No,problem I will be glad to compare notes. I am not from a retrogressed country,so my wife was also able to file a 485 and 765 so she could get an EAD.

NIW for Physicians - Steps to do it yourself.

Hi, I also work in the VA and I filed my I-140 myself with the letter of support from the VA last year without any problems. The 1-140 got approved in about 4 weeks. The hand book says the VA will only do it if they were unable to obtain an H1 visa for you(due to cap-no lober valid),but I have...

    getting a mortgage

Thanks for all your help guys. I have gone ahead and submitted my H-1B ,approved 1-140 and pending 1-485 plus my wife's EAD.Hopefully that will be okay, but if not ,I am sure I can take donations on this forum and raise 20% of the mortgage, then they will not really care if I swam across the...

EB2 NIW EAD, part time job

Hadron, you may remember I was also in a similar situation wanting to moonlight on an EAD but I am soooo glad you and others on this forum set me straight!!. I was wondering, if filling for a "second H1" to moonlight with an employer in an "undersevred area " is that H1 also exempt them...

move to another VA job while on J 1waiver

If your H1 is sponsored by a VA which had petitioned for the your J1 waiver based on its needs,I am not sure how you can transfer to another VA unless that VA can also prove that it could not have employed a US citizen e.t.c(i.e could have also petioned for a J-1 waiver on your behalf).Unless...

    EAD-Self emloyment

Hadron, thanks once again. This however does not appear to be just a VA thing.I have done(and I am still doing) a lot of research on this subject as I obviously do not want to do anything that will leave me in a bad situation at the end of 5 years.but just FYI this is what I found on The Law...

Hadron, thanks for your great insight as always. Below is the excerpt from the VA hand book, detailing the process of applying for the NIW and EAD in the VA.I know it is a long read but please bear with me.The most important paragraph is in bold.I think there might be some confusion over this...
