There are number of threads open for this. Printing happens in Delhi and it's heavily backlog. Please wait atleast for two months I would say. There are cases where OCI granted since middle of April and has not printed...
gcpain,
I don't know if you can do anything but wait. Printing has been delaying alot. when I applied for OCI I could see they were printing the next day but mine took about 15 days. right now with workload, it is getting delayed and delayed.
I could say try calling them once every week...
I don't want to get yell by all the angee oci people but I did not had bad experience with them. I applied for OCI with chicago and sooner or later( 45+ days) I got every thing back nice and clean. My parents applied from NY directly from consulate ( they live in Ohio). It's being 7...
gcpain1.. Wait till May 15 for the OCI to get printed.. Also chicago consulate has a phone number to call only between the hours of 10:00 and 11:00. It's hard. But I have gotten the line couple of times with them..Keep trying..
I agree with speakamericano, you don't have enough time for regular visa processing let along the OCI. Passport will take 2 to 3 week with experdited. Then appling SC +visa , Travisa is taking 2 to 3 week to open the application.. you might have to go in person to get the visa to avoid...
Tried to call Travisa to see how long it will be before they mailed out..40+ calls waiting.. and 30 minutes wait time.. After waiting for 40 minutes.. music stopped coming and phone got disconnected itself..
some service..
I have following message on Govt of India web site.. Is this normal?
"Please contact the Mission/Office after 10 days from date of despatch or any day after receipt of documents at the Mission/Office, whichever is earlier.."
Thanks
Thanks OCI holder , I guess I should give one more week before start calling each and every body in Consulate.. I am afraid that either I have to cancel my travel plan to India or cancel the OCI and loose money.. I really hope status changes next week..
My friends has received the status "Pending approval of the Government of India" that only because he checked yes to one of the question.. I don't remember which exect one.. but it was either travel to pakistan or Bangladesh.. Or may be both.. Took time but it did got approved..
thanks
called chicago consulate they don't know what's going on. According to them it should only takes a week to dispatch after printing...
That does not help in anything..
there phone is busy most of the times..
