    AR-11 - late submission? port/date of entry?

Does that mean a person who gets a re-entry permit for a temporary visit abroad have to file an AR-11 with a work address in a foreign country?

    Might get fired

JoeF is right. My uncle has been a PR for 25 years and he was still pulled up by an Immigration officer! It depends on the person you are dealing with.

Is tamper with body temperature illegal?

If one can get away with it at the POE, I think you can argue on the basis that screening doest work. Some countries, including India, ask for a declaration at the time of entry. If you lie on the declaration, that could be a deportable offense. Maybe the BCIS will start to ask questions to...

    Your experience, please:

I went to Montreal last week and crossed over on the Vermont border. I did not have any such card. I just hsowed them the GC and breezed through.

How long does it take for Phy GC

I personally dont have a problem with the language and style of JoeF. Actually I appreciate his active particiaption although I cannot figure out how he gets the time to do it. Every person has his own style. I think it is quite important to get along with a diverse range of people. I think...

    Reasons for Re-entry permit

I need advise from people who have applied for re-entry permit in the past. How did you document the reasons for applying for a re-entry permit? Did you write up a separate sheet and then provide supporting documentation like an "official letter" ? My proposed reasons go something like...

What do you do if you become homeless?

Hey AW, Seems to me that you take a lot interest in law. Are you sure you dont want to become a lawyer? :-) If you dont mind, can you send me a link to INS web site or anything that says that being homeless is grounds for deportation for a GC holder. I would appreciate that very much. B'Man

Impact on status after long uneployment

Hello JoeF, Thanks for the reply. Is it OK if he takes short trips in and out of the country? He is self-employed with his own so-called company, will that help in the publich charge determination?

    Address change/mail forwarding

JoeF, Before you got your Green Card did you move residences? If so, did you file change of address AR-11 for each move? I certainly didnt before getting a GC. Can the INS use this fact for intiating deportation proceedings? Can the INS be this vindictive? I have been at the same address...

What do you do if you become homeless?

Just a hypothetical question. If an GC immigrant becomes so broke that he/she becomes homeless, how do they fill out the form AR-11 to notigy change of address? If a person chaneges residence to no address, how does one proceed in this case to fill AR-11?

Impact on status after long uneployment

A friend has been a permanent resident for 1.5 years. He was laid off a year ago and still not got a job. SO he has been unemployed for a year. Do you think this might cause a problem in the GC status or later application for citizenship?

    Arrested vs Detained

ASAIK, you can be detained upon susspicion and questioned butnot charged. If you are arrested, you are charged and a trial date set.

    AR-11 and adress change notoficaion

I was watching FOX news just now and seems like INS/DOJ is making a big deal about the address change. It seems INS is coming down harshly much more these days.
