Processing time for green card based on asylum

Hi everyone, my attorney submitted my GC application exactly 2 weeks ago.
How long do you think I will get my receipt notice?
thank you in advance.

How is everyone here concluding to applying for i485 ? specially the way this administration is acting these days

1. Immediately after getting asylum approved ?
2. Six months after getting asylum approved?
3. 1 year after completion of getting asylum approved ?

I'm planning to apply after 6 months.
Since they revised processing time to 19.5 months, I'm considering earlier application (5 months maybe).

My attorney is strictly convinced to apply for my green card when its about 1 year after asylum. He do not want to take any chances on denial

With current processing times I wouldn't wait more than 6 months after approval to apply for AOS. In my case, I applied 5 months later, my case is still processing and I'm already past the one year mark.

If I did what my lawyer advised, I would still be waiting for my interview to be scheduled.
The choice is yours @Abhatti.
If you are in no rush to get green card & start passport clock, waiting 1 year is the safest way for sure.

There is no right or wrong answer, simply because there is no data to support whether its better or faster if you file earlier, i have seen people who filed in 2023 no approval, pple who filed in 2024 with their card already, i believe we are at a moment now where its down to pure luck or the assigned officer and if he/she has had a good week.

It also depends on the office that you get assigned to.
If you look at the I-485 fiscal report, you can see how many outstanding cases office has & how many they approve per quarter.
To say the least, numbers & processing speed differ dramatically between offices.

FYI for report:
