DV 2025 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Process Only

How long it usually takes for change case status in account? Because i see a lot of people has at same day after interview change of status, but my officer said that case should be processed by system and i should to wait for notices a few weeks.
I told her that deadline, she said that she knows, but i should wait.

It varies. It’s possible your interviewer wanted to refer to a supervisor because of the details of your case, though that generally would bea day or two rather than a few weeks.
Did you find out if your background check had cleared yet? That might also be cause for delay.

As she said that background finished. Just need to process by system and it can take a few weeks. She was a one officer who worked yesterday, specially for me

Sometimes they say a few weeks so that the applicant doesn’t call USCIS daily to find out about updates. From what I recall your case is a bit complicated so probably referred to a supervisor.

She said everything is fine with case, even didn’t ask marriage questions, because she said rfe was done perfectly and she see that it is real marriage. Officer was really nice women. But i am worried about decision.
Can be situation like interview was perfectly easy but case denied?

You just need to calm down and wait for the decision. You can’t do anything else about the outcome at this point. You may think the interview was perfectly easy and still end up being denied, that is not unusual. Especially in your case which doesn’t seem to be a standard one. It is not unusual for the final decision to take a while even in situations where the applicant thinks their interview was easy and straightforward. Just be patient.

As mom said, interview can seem easy but you don’t know. It wasn’t clear to me (unless I missed something in prior posts) how your status situation has evolved while you are in the US so that might be something they are looking into. At least you know they are satisfied about the marriage. Or it could just be that supervisor is away or…any number of factors to speculate. You can only wait, and trust that as they are aware of the deadline they will do their best to resolve before FY end.

Hi mom,
I called uscis and they said that they've ordered my card to be printed....... The uscis status updated to new card is being produced
Im still processing the news in my head..... Also i have updated the spreadsheet and will finish when i get all the exact dates
l also contacted kcc about my derivatives, they said that they should go to the embassy abroad and ask if they would initiate the process,
considering there was no ds260 filed, nor the form i 824, what are my chances?
what can i do with the time left?

Thank you for what your doing, you guys are amazing

Why did you not file DS260s? Consular processing cannot be completed without one. I have heard anecdotal evidence that some embassies allow you to do that on the spot - maybe they can ask about that. I don’t know if they can just fill those in as derivatives or if you would have to have one completed first naming them as your derivatives - maybe mom knows, or they can ask the embassy. I believe most FTJs we have seen successfully processed on this site have been done without i824s. You may want to try calling the embassy as well. I understand most congressmen don’t really deal with embassies but I think we have seen some reports where congressmen can help get an embassy to look at a case like this. Time is tight, so the odds are against you but ..we have seen some success stories in a rush at the end of the FY before.

As for “what are your chances” - zero if you don’t try to do anything, you have nothing to lose by trying.

Congratulations on getting your case approved. I’m sorry I do not provide % chances - my take is it either happens, or it doesn’t. You/your derivatives can contact the Nairobi embassy again, this time letting them know your AOS application has been approved by USCIS. Maybe they will be more amenable to processing your derivatives for FTJ - if they are, they will require you or your derivatives to complete the DS260 forms.

Hi @Sm1smom, I got my biometrics done on September 16th. I reached out to EMMA the following day, and I was put in a queue for a call back from a Tier 2 representative. Today, I received a call from a Tier 2 officer, and I asked if there is an interview scheduled for my file. She said there's no interview appointment scheduled on my application, and everything looks good. Also, she said there are no flags, so I should keep on checking my case status for updates. What does that mean? Also, my senator has transferred the inquiry she submitted on my behalf about 3 weeks ago to the Detroit Field Office. I don't know what to do now because time is against us.

Do add your case details to the timeline spreadsheet in order for me to have a better understanding of your case.

i came to USA under Ukrainian humanitarian parole, after that i did a tps, later renewed parole and tps. So i have, parole and tps. I show both statuses on interview.

Congratulations on your GC approval!!
Did you manage to schedule your derivatives' interview at the Nairobi embassy?

When last did you follow up with your Senator's office to confirm if there's been any update from your FO? Detroit, your FO has not be quite quick with scheduling DV based AOS applications as reported this year. Reach out to your Senator's office again and inform them about the upcoming sunset factor that will impact your case if it does not get adjudicated by EOD 9/30.

Hi Mom. I received the following response from the congressional office today:

I also tried contacting Tier 2 officers via the USCIS live chat, but I was referred back to the website three separate times and wasn’t able to get a callback. Are there any other actions I should be taking at this point?
Hi Mom. I still haven’t received any updates on the portal. Based on your advice for other members, I waited until this week to go to the FO in person. I am planning to email the congressman’s office and go in person again tomorrow to plead with the officers. Do you have any other advice on how to proceed? Would it hurt my chances/seem excessive if I go in person again?

Sorry for the constant check-ins. We have only 6 full business days in the FY and Trump’s announcement on Friday about H1Bs is not helping anything. My stress level is at crazy levels and I check the portal every hour now.

Another walk-in attempt wouldn't hurt.

There's no other effective follow-up option I know of that has not yet been shared.

@Sm1smom today we went into the field office and were able to talk to someone. The person didn't really say much. We told her about the deadline being next week. She said that she can't see anything about the case but asked us for a copy of the notice with the case number. She took it for a while and she came back and said that she gave a copy of the case receipts to her officer. I asked if that was the officer handling my case and she stated that she gave it to her supervising officer. She said that if there's anything that they need from us, they will call the phone number that is attached to the case from when we filed.

She didn't really seem to want to hear much about the actual case details or anything. Rather she just took our I-485 NOA, made copies of them and gave them to the supervising officer.

1. Do you think that is at least a decent result that she said she gave the case notice to the supervisor?
2. Do you think it's worth attempting another walk in if we don't hear anything and if so, at what point would that be?
