Waiting Asylum decision

This is great.
It took my officer 14 months to reach decision.
Honestly it’s always crazy to me how it takes more than 2 month to reach a decision let alone a year, I mean I’m trying to think of scenarios where they might need to refer it to the headquarter for a quality review, or document authentication outside of the us, but it should never take a year to make a decision like the officer got to be crazy lazy to do that

I think most times the officers make decisions swiftly, but the asylum supervisors as well as background checks may cause the unnecessary delay.

ten years waiting. This is brutal. Congratulations to you, really happy for you.

Hi everyone,

I’ve been waiting for a decision on my application for seven months now, and I’m still waiting without any updates. I decided to submit a second inquiry to USCIS recently to follow up.
When I submitted my first inquiry, USCIS responded by saying that my application is still under review. I’m curious to know has anyone else submitted a second inquiry? What kind of response did you get?
Would appreciate hearing your thoughts or experiences. Hoping we all receive good news soon!

Congratulations am tapping on this blessing for myself please I have a question after your interview what was your status mine has been on pending decision since may30th2025

“decision pending” since 05/21/25. Waited 9yrs for interview and this wait for the decision is killing me. Newark Asylum Office, Manhattan Branch. Worth to send an email for status update or should I just continue waiting?

My timeline is pretty similar, and I reached out to my office, but I got a generic answer. The wait is like living a nightmare every single day.
