More entries will be selected in early October 2012 !!!

Based on the information provided, the Entry HAS NOT BEEN SELECTED for further processing for the Electronic Diversity Visa program at this time. More entries will be selected in early October 2012, so please keep your confirmation information until at least that time.

i have not been selected in lottery may 2012 but there is a message say " More entries will be selected in early October 2012 "
what does it mean ? is there is other lottery in October 2012 ?
i don't think so ! I think that this procedure administrative only and does not mean that there are more winner !

what do you think guys ?
 
ok well , you say some one maybe can winning in October 2012 in case of some one selected in may 2012 but could not fill the form or late for the interview , and i am agree about it too !
I think that the percentage of which will be chosen in October 2012 will not exceed 1%

But I think it will be up to %20 - %30!

it means that if you did not get selected, you will have another chance for next year's drawing in October, as usual!
I agree it does sound confusing, but that's their way of saying: "Screw you, try again!"

Hi,

That doesn't sound right. The entry period ran from October 4, 2011, at noon, Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) (GMT-4), and concluded on Saturday, November 5, 2011. A week or so before the results were announced someone noticed that the DoS had put in large red text:

"DV 2013 Entrants: Please keep your confirmation number until at least September 2013, even if you are not selected on May 1, 2012. The Department of State may select more DV 2013 entries on October 1, 2012."

Once unsuccessful applicants checked if they'd been selected, the message stated, and continues to state that more entries will be selected in October, and recommends that applicants keep their confirmation numbers "until at least that time."

If an applicant is unsuccessful again in the further selection made on October 1 2012, they can always re-apply for DV-2014, which will have its entry period from October to November 2012 as above, and its selection on May 1 2013.

This txt is kindof unusual and has never appeared in prior years so it makes me wonder if they are doing something different this year. What would be the reason for making this announcement if they had no plans to do anything with it...
