Hello,

I, my wife and 2 years old child are planing to apply for B2 visa, and little worried about visa interview.

About my application:

-Purpose: travel, visit friend.
-I am Russian working in Korea (visa expires in 2013). Got employment certificate.
-got invitation letter from american friend, confirming that accommodation will be provided.
-got bank statement for around 7.000-8.000 USD.

Will only employment be ok for ties to second country?

Is it ok to apply for whole family?

Your advise is appreciated on this matter.

Thanks.

Ties to country of normal residence can be demonstrated using a variety of documents. Surely proof of stable employment is one of them.

If the entire family will be visitng the US, then yes.

Thank you very much.

I am very worried about his. But can't do anything by worrying. ;)

I will have interview next week. Hopefully, everything goes smoothly.

My family got ours as a whole (brother was already on F1 in the US) and we were expatriates, so ties to a foreign country do work (we didn't own property). It was in the mid 90s, though, so things might have changed.

Best of luck and keep us posted.

Hi,

we applied yesterday and application was denied.

Reason: no strong tie to country of residence.

I think applying for whole family was mistake. She asked me if any immediate family member will stay in Japan while we travel to US. I said "no".

Then came rejection.

Well, I have one more question for you guys.

Is it bad idea to apply for Canadian tourist visa? I have already one denial in 2009. At that time reasons were: no strong ties to country of resident and no good reason to visit Canada. Since then, I got permanent job and have child now. Will these changes affect positively?

Reason for travel stays same: travel, meeting my friend.

I would appreciate if you can advise me on this.

Thanks.

Over come the denial reason, i.e., strong tie to native country.

Most of your documents are for showing that you will return to the home country after your temporary stay in the United States. e.g., job proof, property proof, bank accounts, family ties etc. Please note that it is not mandatory that you must gather each and every document listed here.

There is no specific list prescribed by the government. However, the more documents you take, the better it is for you.
