I was born in X country and I'm citizen of Y country at the moment. I know the rules about the eligibility but hey, what if I'm not citizen of country I was born (X) anymore and changed my name then switched to Y country citizenship? I have no more registry in the "X" country anymore...

Right. You will use your passport of country Y to get the visa (visa is a stamp in your passport, do not forget), and visa number still allocated for country X.

..... I know the rules about the eligibility but ......

No you don't ! If you did, the Q never arise.

Place of citizenship (Y) does not matter, place of birth (ie. X registry) DOES!!
You need that X registry birth cert. document in 'crisp' form to be successful.

Best!

PS: What do you mean by 'change name'? = forging a Y birth cert?
But then you entered DV claiming X i suppose.....a catch 22?

OR

Are you planning ahead for next eDV? with a forged Y birth cert?

You are asking the questions that I want to get answer... Looks like I will send letters to officials if I win... Not a big deal though.
