I am wondering if there is/are any routes (beside USCIS) I should follow if I need to know the result of my name check

There no need to follow up on the status of your name check unless at least 4-6 months have passed since your FP and you haven't received interview letter yet.

It's three months and two weeks now from my FP, who should I contact after the 4-6 months.

Only USCIS IO can tell you the status of your name check. Even if you inquire with congressperson, they too have to contact USCIS for the name check status.

Bob Thanks, I come a cross many threads here in which USCIS IO told applicants that their name check were pending but it turned out the were not the case. Is there any third party/agency that could confirm USCIS statement?

Not that I know of since only the initiator of name check (USCIS in this case) can update you. You can also schedule and Infopass and speak with an IO face to face for a status update. Document everytime you contact them and what answer they give you as it may come in handy later when you get conflicting answers from them.

calling CS will help

Hi,

There is no other way to find out about namecheck other than contacting Customer service at 1-800-375-5283 and talk to an IIO. (Not the cust service rep). They have information about it.

Regards

I have contacted USCIS ((myself and congresswoman office) couple days ago and was told name check still pending. Somehow, I do not feel good about this answer since the last memo from USCIS stated “In fact as of that February 17 snapshot, the FBI was completing 99.2 percent of all requests in less than 30 days”. My FP was almost 4 months since completed.

try again in a few days

Hi,

Sorry to hear that they told you still pending.

Give it a few days and then try again. I had applied on 04/07 and my name check was completed in Nov 08. But that was as per the schedule they announced.(deadlines).

In my opinion you are very close. Just give it a few days and ask again.(I know easier said than done and I know the wait is painful..having gone through it myself.).

I think USCIS/FBI will make good on their promise. Maybe you called and after that they updated the status.

Just be a little more patient and hopefully you will hear the good news.

All the best.

You can send a letter to US AG and/or to President/VP. President's Office will forward your request to FBI NNCP and you should get a letter from NNCP (name check unit) regarding the status. Expect a response within a month.

Lazycis thank you for the info, this is what I am looking for. Do you have mail address, attention to, etc for the US AG or President/VP office? I will really appreciate it.

I don't mean to be arrogant or anything, but, how about using Google?

Vice President Joe Biden
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
Washington, DC 20500

U.S. Department of Justice
950 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW
Washington, DC 20530-0001

Thank you for the info, I did Google the address but thought there may be specific mail address and attention to inside the U.S. Department of Justice or VP office that deal with this specific inquiry

NO. And the letter should go like this:

The Honorable
Joseph R. Biden
Vice President of the United States
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
Washington DC 20050

Just as I predicted, the issue is not the name check. I just spoke to USCIS deputy director who transferred me to somebody to take care of my case. The IO took my A# and case number and put me on hold for 5 min. She returned back and asked me if I had lived in different state before, I told her I lived in IL for a while. She stated although my N400 right now in the local office but that was not the case for my A-file which was still in IL when they scheduled my interview. I told her I have been told that my Name check was not cleared. She stated, no the name check is fine and I will be scheduled for interview very soon (within a week or two). Let us hope/pretend for now that statement is true

USCIS just called me to let me know that my name check is cleared and my interview is going to be on 7/6. I have sent email this morning to the Southeast Regional director and wondering if my email triggers this update.

I sent email yesterday to the ombudsman officer who is working my case as well. Getting confused regard what trigger the interview. What ever, I got my interview and that what important.

So what USCIS deputy director told you in Aprial was not true. It was still
the name check until now.

Not really, he could be correct. Do not forget, name check could be clreared but USCIS may have internal invest due to the name check result. Normally USCIS will tell you name check still pending even if it's internal invest.
