Let me get this straight. You successfully convinced the US government to grant you asylum since your life was in danger in India and/or you were persecuted there. So far so good. Now you want to hide your asylum status from the Indian authorities so that you may visit India, where you are either persecuted and/or your life is in danger? I am assuming you are not a derivative asylee.
Even if you successfully hide your status from the Indian authorities, you will probably get a restricted passport. I don't know how the Indian consulates in the US operate, but if an illegal Pakistani approaches a Pakistani consulate in a similar situation, they are given a one page passport so that they can return to Pakistan.
Even if you get a full Indian passport, how will you justify/defend the trip to India when you return to the US?
Plenty to think about!!!
