Hi friends,

I am Indian asylum in USA, is there anyone who can give me good suggestion on how i can get NP renewed, coz I want to travel to India. Can I just tell that I am illegal here and no status in order to get NP ?

Thanks

Let me get this straight. You successfully convinced the US government to grant you asylum since your life was in danger in India and/or you were persecuted there. So far so good. Now you want to hide your asylum status from the Indian authorities so that you may visit India, where you are either persecuted and/or your life is in danger? I am assuming you are not a derivative asylee.
Even if you successfully hide your status from the Indian authorities, you will probably get a restricted passport. I don't know how the Indian consulates in the US operate, but if an illegal Pakistani approaches a Pakistani consulate in a similar situation, they are given a one page passport so that they can return to Pakistan.
Even if you get a full Indian passport, how will you justify/defend the trip to India when you return to the US?
Plenty to think about!!!

777us,

I'd suggest you to book a flight to go to Nepal. From there, you can use your citizenship and take a flight to travel to India.

Triple Citizen :

I'm a derivative asylee. Would you advise me against traveling back to my native country?

agree with you. this is what make people, including people inside the DHS, cynical about asylum seekers and their "stories."

Not at all. Have a safe trip.

I'd appreciate if you gave more details about your reply.

I received a derivative asylee status last week based on my father's approval.

Are you saying that my status won't be at risk if I visited my country of origin, the same country that my father cited as having faced a fear of prosecution?

Your father successfully proved that his life was in danger and/or he was being persecuted. That is why he was granted asylum. You got derivative status because of of the parent-child relationship, nothing more, nothing less. You did not need to prove persecution and/or fear of life.
