I have apply I-485 since August of 2005. Now I still don't have any interview for my green card yet. Anybody have any idea why it takes that long?

Please share your experience. I will be appreciated.

Thank you

Nowaday it is taking between 6 to 9 months for such applications to see final adjudication. your application must have issues of inadmissibility such as material support bar to terrorism (that's the only reasons I could think of). But you are not alone many and many thousands applications are currently affected by material support bar.
Note: Name check processing is no longer an excessive issue of delay.

Best Luck

Write to your Senator. You don't have to pay or anything and you won't be losing anything either.

My brother, mother and my own I-730 cases had been stuck for 18 months until I wrote to my State senator who sent me a mail saying he'd been assured that a decision would be taken within a month. A week after I received a mail from him, we received a letter from the USCIS asking us to send some additional information ( relationship verification related ).

I've already written a letter to my senator since 01-29-09. I still don't get anything back from her yet. Do you think I should wait acouple more week? I am so despread of getting my green card now. Please advice me what should I do next.

Call the senator's office and make sure your letter was received. I usually press them to make sure they get to my case as soon as possible.

Than for you comment. If my I-485 approved will I need to have an interview, or I will get my green card right away?

You may have to consider taking them to court to force them to decide the application.
