I called today and the IO told me on the phone u have been approved and are in queue for oath. i cant believe i got it. i was really worried about my 2 long trips but i got it im approved.. this forum seriously helps with posted peoples experiences..questions and answers, opinions everything . and THANKS EVERYONE !!! I just hope i get my oath and do the oath so im DONE with the uscis.

That's great news nyc!!..Just keep following up with them to find out your actual oath date.

thanks guys! yes i will stalk them for my oath date as i have stalked them for my interview date then my decision answer now i will be calling for oath lol i hope its soon they said 90 days but i might think they will send it in 2 weeks or so..just my guess.

no i actually applied 5 year one month later. i didnt know there is a 4 year 1 day rule :) i applied based on a family lawyers advice who told me u can give it a try after ur 5 years.. it took me a month to getting around to doing it.

According to my opinion
Any complicated case within the rules and regulation of USCIS should apply.
There are many cases I saw in this forum with long trips got approved at the end!
So USCIS wants everyone to pass , Is not it true?
Never mind about 4 years rule now.
Be happy

I want to add some more observation.
It is not easy for many people to just come here and settle.
Lot of things to be taken care of in the previous country like Education ,parents, relatives ,previous job and property etc etc.

Kong-rats again, NYC. We now step up to the waiting game. :D

Still waiting!!!

Congrats NYC!!! This is excellent news.

I have a similar situation. I had one trip that was longer than 6 months, but shorter than one year. My interview was on 11/7/08 and I got a "decision can not be made." I still haven't heard anything since then. I had an infopass appt earlier this month - the only update they had was that my file was last checked on 12/31/08.

Any advise on what I should do?

Congratulations nyc_nyc_nyc. I'll have had 6 educational trips of several months each (not over 6 months, and chances are they'll laugh at me and send me off, but I'm going to try anyway, and hopefully I get an understanding IO like you did.

thanks,,,my advice is all you can do is wait and PRAY..and im not sure what they do but they CAN TAKE 120 days or more because i dont trust their 120 promise..i made a service request and they sent me an answer to after 2 1/2 months saying that my case is being looked at and the background checks on my case have not completed and can take up to 6 more months:confused: yes 6 more months but same week i got oath letter..i went crazy waiting.. all you can do is wait for their decision but if you had one trip and you have the proper documents to show that you had contact with the USA then you should probably be fine..thats my opinion based on my case and everyones that traveled as i did.

thanks...if your trips are under 6 months then you shouldnt be worried as long as you completed the 5 years why worry about the 6 months,, they can give you a hard time but i know people who go out of the state 6 months then come back live here 6 months then go back out 6 months then come in 6 months etc, they do this for 5 years....

Well, six trips like that, several back-to-back, will not look good. I mean, it could go either way, I guess. I'm hoping the fact I always used RTDs and RPs will work in my favour, since I wasn't able to get a passport. So, there was ALWAYS intent on my part to maintain continuous residence. We'll see. Fingers crossed.

back to back is not good that can piss them off too..but you can still go for it and see what happens...you need to complete 5 years im sure you already know you need to count the days you have lived in the states to see if you are ok to apply...
