InfoPass

My InfoPass appointment makes more sense by reading your posts. The IO was nice today and said that I was placed in queue for interview since 9/22/08. However, they had sent my file for FBI process. That is why my lawyer received a response inquiry that my file was in FBI. The IO said my file came back with no record and that is good.

I guess I'm back in the system. I have a feeling that when my file arrived in July 2007 they did my FP and then sat on it. When I started inquirying that's when they put it back on track. If I am correct does that mean that it's kinda like they received my application in 9/08 instead if 7/07?

Thanks for all your support. It helps so much

I'm glad your info pass went well for you today, it all seems pretty promising.

As for your question, more like they received it in 07, but for whatever reasons, apparently didn't do anything until 08. :(

Since everyone is now telling you that you are in the interview queue, looks like its just a matter of time before you receive your IL, hopefully soon :)

It seems promising :-) My husband wants me to start studying. The IO was nice and I felt she was confident in the information she gave us.

Thank you

Can someone explain how this Infopass appointment works? I know that it is available online, but can one give a choice for nearest DO/ USCIS office (I live in Bayarea, California) where this appointment takes place? Also how they set the time and date-I mean how many days away? I have not received my FP notice after a long wait, so considering infopass.

Waiting 12/12/12 (1,985 days) forever

According to "The Hopi and Mayan elders do not prophesy that everything will come to an end. Rather, this is a time of transition from one World Age into another" in 12/21/12 (1499 days left for the age of transition to begin...)

Lets hope at least one of you are wrong :)

:-) lol

I put that in my signature as I wanted to show it will take forever, but as I believe the world with not end :-) I should probably change it to 12/21/12?

Thanks Cregan. My issue is regarding non receipt of fingerprint notice for my naturalization application. For Infopass appointment, can I give a choice for date, time and office of my convenience or they schedule it as per availability? Actualy I had one service request done about 10 days back for which they told me to wait for 45 days. Now my case can move forward only after FP is done and instead ofwaiting for 45 days, I am considering infopass as people are getting immediate FP appointments.
Also I had one FP done (code3) in Jan08 for my GC renewal, so wondering if they still need to do another at this time while it is still valid!

RSRK, I'm sure someone else can answer more accurately as I know enough information to make me not patient :-)

I think that you have to have a new set of FP for citizenship. I don't think that they will take your GC FP.

As for the Infopass, that's my opinion only - make your appointment. Since 16 months, I have been told to wait. See were I'm at today, waiting. Don't rely completely on USCIS phone service. They often say different things. If I would be you, I would go. But maybe someone else has a different opinion. If I would have to start all over, I would not wait. I would have made an Infopass appointment instead of waiting 52 days for my FP.

Let us know how it goes.

You're wrong on that one. Any time the USCIS takes FPs, they are valid for 15 months and are applicable to any application filed within that time period. This is precisely why RSRK hasn't received an FP notice. If it so happens that his application is still being processed when the FPs expire, a new FP notice will be issued.

That makes sense, thank you for answering :-)

I am just waiting and waiting ... to me my experience has not been a fun one

Looking at your timeline, I can see that your experience has been anything BUT fun. I admire your patience, as I was getting ready to sue the USCIS once my case turned 1 year old.

I'm ready to sue them. But my last InfoPass the IO said I should wait as I am placed in queue for interview. Ya right ... my finger prints are expiring next week. I set up another InfoPass 2 days after they expire and will try to get a second FP appointment. If they don't want too, I think I will think once more about suing.

Patience, you're funny :-) I loose my mind easy when I think about the situation ... this site is so great, it helps.

Cregan/ Vorpal,
Then does it make sense that I go for Infopass and take the copy of old FP notice I have of GC renewal and clarify the whole confusion? Because I am waiting here day after day to know whether my case is moving or not with or without another FP. I know there will be indefinite wait anyhow before the interview date(6-8months), but atleast meanwhile I know I can make some travel plans. With this FP issue hanging in the air, I cannot even do that!

RSRK, I would prefer to get Vorpal's thought on this. But it wouldn't hurt to get an Infopass and ask information. They will probably confirm if your FP are still good, but at least you will know where your file is. I have my next InfoPass scheduled in 2 weeks.

usinsuser99, go to www.uscis.gov On the left of the screen, not at the bottom but almost you will see the Infopass button. Click on it and follow the instructions.

Well, of course the USCIS will tell you to wait! You can be waiting a year and they'll keep on telling you to wait. Have you contacted any elected officials yet? If not, I highly suggest writing to your state senators and your local representatives and asking them to look into the status of your case. If you really have been placed in queue for interview, then USCIS should be able to put it in writing. I was at the end of my tether with them earlier this year. They kept telling me (both over the phone and InfoPass) that my application was placed in queue for interview on 01/30/08, yet I kept seeing applicants who filed their N-400s after mine was placed in queue receive interviews. As a result, I contacted every elected official I could think of, both state and Federal, and had them inquire about the status of my case. I even had a WOM complaint prepared and was ready to file it as soon as my case turned 1 year old. Lo and behold, my IL finally arrived.

Don't listen to anything that USCIS tells you. In most cases, the IOs have no clue about the inner workings of their employer. Start writing letters.

Just to get some peace of mind, you can schedule an InfoPass and inquire about your FPs. However, you'll be told exactly what I stated in my earlier post. You still have valid FPs on file; therefore, no FP appointment is currently necessary.

Vorpal, I printed lots for suing USCIS. However, the processing times in Phoenix are still working on July 27, 2007. But they have been processing people in Phoenix faster, in the summer it was about 3 months waiting time. The reason I get impatient, is that they admitted my file was in the no processing pile. it was admitted to Senator Jon Kyl, my lawyer and myself. My FBI name check was sent in October and completed on 10/31/08. So I know I was not stuck in a name check for too long.

With the July 27, 2007 processing time (not being updated for a few months now) I was wondering if it would look bad if I file my lawsuit now. Should I wait until it shows 8/10/07? That will take a while before it happens, as they only have been moving the processing time by a week everytime they update it.

Thanks

Vorpal, I forgot to mention. I had contacted Sen Jon Kyl. On 9/23 he had called USCIS and was guaranted that my file would not be in the no process pile and will be in queue for interview. My lawyer made me contact him again last week, but I had no response. I'm assuming they must have worked hard during the elections :-) I also send a request with the worksheet to CIS Obudsman, no response.
