Passed USCIS interview

Folks,

One good step ahead. I passed the USCIS interview at Seattle today.

I'll post a short summary, since I'm in a bit of hurry, but wanted to share the news with ya'll.

Pretty smooth. Standard stuff.

I had to sign FULL NAME on the photo (last week my wife signed "short name" like bank signature :eek: Each IO does it their own way!!! :rolleyes:)

Oath on July 1, 2008 :) since they DONT have July 4 oath seats anymore! :cool:


Interesting bit: I am over 31 years old, HOWEVER - the IO spent a few minutes confirming with me that I did not have to register for Selective Services. I thought people said if you are over 31, then they dont ask you. He asked me few questions to re-confirm I did not have to register SSS.

Even if you are over 31, They do ask you and They do confirm. He stopped short of seeing my SIL letter which I had - he was satisfied with my answers, and he said, lets proceed.
 
The only thing is my wife still is in the middle of police clearance letters as posted before. Her fingerprints are faint, (some women have faint fingerprints), so her FP is not readable.

So she cannot get the same oath day and she is delayed. She needs to mail those to USCIS, and then they'll take their own sweet time to process oath. So, she is a bit sad, but she'll get there someday.

I can trade my oath date with you. :)) I wanted an early date, but the IO said July 4rth is the only available one :(
 
I wanted a "ceremonious date" (plus its a Holiday).

So, I said if ur giving July 1 - can you give me July 4?

He said, sorry, there are 500+ folks at July 4 and we are FULL.

I WAS THINKING THE SAME when IO said this! :cool: seattleliter, I was going to tell the IO, can seattleliter and crosshairs exchange, and IO would have been like WHAT!? :) :) :)

Then we'll have to tell the IO to loginto this forum! :)

OK I saw it. I asked for July 4th and she goes, there is one for military on July 3rd.

oh, I forgot to mention on this forum that I went for another infopass. :D That was on Monday, and that is why probably I got my oath letter soon.

I was trying to fit myself into the Oath for June 25th (yesterday) and it didn't work.
