I could not understand why people were getting interviews when the local DO listings stated they were processing older cases, now I know why.

here is the website:

You don't really believe that this is accurate do you?
Double or tripple it and you might be closer.

Who exactly gave these numbers?
Nobody is likely the answer, especially since they have no names
associated with the numbers for ANYONE to actually take accountability.
They threw darts against the wall to come up with the numbers for all you know.

looks like processing is much faster now. check out my timeline.
What is your District Office? That will give you a true indication of how quickly you will be processed. If you are in Sacremento then I think it will be fast, but if you're in LA it will be a while.

I think I will be waiting all 14 months per my DO, they are soooooo sloooooooww..ehhh..check out my timeline.
Infopass: 5/01- File arrived at local DO on 4/25, waiting in line for interview (2-4 months)

So they confirmed that your file is at the DO? I thought the service center only sends the file to the DO once an interview date is available and has been established. Have you tried calling USCIS since your Infopass and speak with an IO to determine if an interview date has been set up?

An important thing to remember is that the posted times in that memo are only for summer 2007 applications, not current ones. That would explain why current applications are being processed much faster than the dates indicated.

Bobsmyth,

I called USCIS today and spoke to IO who told me that my case is still pending..blah..blah..you will hear something by SEPTEMBER!!! Then I asked him if he knows where my file is...and he tells me that it is still in TSC. LMAO. I know for sure that my case is at my local DO. Still no IL or date.

Conclusion: I don't think USCIS can tell its a** from its face. LOL.

How do you know for sure your file is at DO since normally they only send your file to DO once they have scheduled interview date.

What about the cases where an IL comes directly from the DO? In this situation, it's possible that the service centers send a file to the local DO, where it remains in the DO-based interview queue. I believe Philly is one such DO.

I thought ILs always come from the DO after the a date has been scheduled and this triggers the Service Center to send the file to the DO.

I used to think that too, until I read a couple of reports of ILs arriving directly from the DO. I distinctly remember seeing on in the Philly thread a couple of months ago.

In that case it wouldn't surprise me since there's a total lack of uniformity with USCIS procedures.

I set up an Infopass appointment on 5/01. IO told me that my file has arrived on 4/25, and that it is currently under review (game me the name of an IO who has my file). Then, he told me that I am in line for interview and expect something in the mail in the next 2-4 months. LOL. Should I harass the IO who has my file?

Don't believe the 2-4 month timeline, it's just a standard IO response. Just take a look at my timeline, you'll see exactly what I mean.

Sounds like it's a waiting game from this point on. You can try speaking with IO if you don't receive IL after 2-4 months timeframe.
