This agency just doesn't stop to amaze me... I have received the answers from USCIS Philadelphia office to the inquries of two sitting US senators about exact date when my FBI namecheck was submitted to the FBI... Do you think they at least try some decency when writing to US senators? Guess not... because two letters gives two different answers to the same very specific question. How worse it could be?...

If these people are even not capable of modest task of looking at the right page on their computer screen and are giving incorrect information to the US senators, I'm getting afraid what could ever possibly happen with our cases in the hands of these incompetent <your own definition>?

Just to clarify two points:

1. That's not a joke. I'm holding proof at my hand.
2. USCIS gave two different answers to very same specific question. The question was "When FBI name check was submitted for First Lastname, A-XXXXXXXX?"
Their answers:
- 04/19/2007
- 04/11/2007

that makes at least one of their answer a blatant lie to the acting US senator. And makes me wonder about validity of the other answer too...

USCIS's response to that is to average out the dates on both letters to a mid point. That will yield you the goal time they planned to send the namecheck to FBI. :D

one word: NY Times
i bet they would like to publish a sequel to their article on USCIS especially after Gonzo's "official respose" to them!

In my case I had 5 days difference between day, provided by Senator and day, provided on Infopass appointment. Is it big deal for you since you started such "sensational" thread only because 7 days delta? :D
The reason might be very simple - kind of sent/received situation when one source provides date when it was requested and second when it was run through FBI database. Reason could be even more prosaic - typo.

z350,

My point is that information provided by USCIS can't be trusted. Even if they provide it to senators.
I know some ppl already knew that, but for me it was an eye-opener.

In no way I'm implying that they do lie or make things up on purpose, IMHO more probable reason is their gross incompetence. But on purpose or not, they are giving out the incorrect information. Whether this is imporatant or not, it's up to you to decide. But since I depend on them to process my case (and paid them in full up front for doing their job, btw), I would at least expect some decency.

Well, saga continues... Thanks to friendly and helpful senator's staff member, I got the answer from USCIS on the question about discrepancies in their previous answers about name check submittion date. Now USCIS claims that my name check was submitted to the FBI on 04/11/2007 and got processed by the FBI on 04/19/2007! That comes as a big surprise to me, because I have received multiple responses from USCIS about delay with processing my N-400, and the reason for delay was always "background check is pending".

I'm starting feeling like Alice in Wonderland going down the rabbit hole... to be continued.

I probably shouldn't even be asking this, but do you have this in writing? If yes, then this could be the most important piece of evidence for your WOM.

File WOM against those SUCKERS....

When I filed 1447B WOM AUSA filed an motion to dismiss with a affadavits from USCIS/FBI that my name check was still not complete as of June 15 2007. However I got a letter reply from Justice Dept to my letter to first lady that said name check was completed on march 25th 2007. Go figure! This was blatant misrepresentation to a Federal court on their part via a sworn document!! Needless to say all I had to do was to file a rebuttal to the AUSA's MTD attaching this letter and asking the judge to sanction the agencies. I got oath with 15 days of that.
