Name Check and Fingerprints cleared?

Question
I called USCIS military line yesterday and spoke to I assume an IO. Very nice lady. She said everything looked fine on my file and it was on its way to my DO in my case ATL and that ATL DO should have it within the next two weeks. She said it was up to them to schedule interview depending on their availabilities.
My question is a twofer. One, can I assume my name check and FP have cleared if they are forwarding my file to my DO now? Two, does anyone have any experience as to how long it takes at the ATL DO to schedule the interview once they receive the file? The lady said if I do not hear anything within two months to call again and make an infopass appointment at my DO. I was prepared for her to tell me 6 months or more, two months? Does that sound right? Any input is appreciated

The good news is that your name check and FPs have been cleared, since you've been placed in queue for interview. The bad(?) news is that the 2 month timeline given to you by the IO is a standard response. I was given a similar timeline at InfoPass (1-2 months estimate for IL arrival), and many other members of this forum have been given identical timelines as well. We'll see how accurate they are. In the meantime, the fact that you're past the name check hellhole is reason enough to be happy!

Vorpal, at least for me, the 1-2 month estimate worked out well.

This is true. I think that mine appears to be on track as well, since NYC reported July 20 in their last update. However, I do find it a bit odd that every DO is giving the same exact timeframe during InfoPass.

So when the file moves from TSC to local District Office that means the name check/FP are cleared and done with?
I forgot to ask the lady specifically about that, even though that it was what I assumed when she said everything is fine and next is interview.. As for the 2 months it will be interesting to see how fast things move from here on out...

Once your background checks clear (name check, FP, etc), your file is then transferred over to the DO and the interview is scheduled. In most cases, the service center schedules the interview, although I've heard of a few instances when the IL came directly from the DO. To answer your question, yes, your name check and FPs are over and done with.

The first person (customer service rep) l spoke to told me the same thing. When I asked if I can be transfered to an IO, she said she can escalate the call by transferring me but couldn't guarantee it would be an IO I would speak to. My call was transfered and I ended up speaking with IO who could confirm if name check was cleared.

fingerprint done yesterday how do i check if the fingerprint cleared? and does that mean the name check cleared too?

Jojo , i am glad that you finally called the military line. They are all IOs so you are in good hands :) I was told the same thing around the middle of January, just as little as 10 days after they have received my file. He told me to wait for 2 months. Well it worked.

My suggestion for you would be is that, just keep in touch with them on regular basis. Call them everyday (afternoon when they are less busy) and ask them where your file is. If your file has been sent to your DO, you can celebrate it :) Well, if your file is stuck at the service center, ask the military IO if he can help you with forwarding a message to your DO to request your file.

hope this helps. They are all wonderful people and really really are willing to help you as best as they can.

Gatedgal

Gatedgal,
you were so right. The lady I talked to was very nice. Good to know they are all IOs, as I did not specifically ask. She just said everything looked fine and that the file was going to get transferred to my DO within the next two weeks and that I should expect IL within 2 months. I am debating whether I should call in 2-4 weeks to see if my file was transferred to my DO indeed. I do not want to bug them either though, especially since everything so far has been going fairly smooth and fast.

Its totally up to you. I sort of wanted to whiz through it so i called almost everyday. Because i had to have it by April. Well keep us posted :)
