Help!! I am stuck in the twilight Zone!!

Guys, here's my situation. Began the whole process back in June of last year...(Married to USC). I got my EAD within 3 months and got a letter for the AOS interview for February 7th 2007. We went for the interview and it went quite well and all. The officer approved the petition however she said that she couldn't approve my Adjustment at that moment due to the fact that my medical exam was missing a "skin" tuberculosis test. The Doctor who conducted the medical exam only did the X-ray tuberculosis test because as I've heard, the X-Ray exam is more accurate than the skin test and the skin test is notorious for sometimes giving false results.
The officer said that once I get the skin test done, I should send it to the local district office (she gave the address and some other details to send with the new "sealed" exam). According to her, once I send that in the process should be completed and I should hear back from USCIS shortly. She said she doesnt see a problem.
I sent the new medical exam within that same week through Fedex. The thing is this....my deadline to get my new medical exam in is May 7th 2007. I sent this exam back in February and I haven't heard back from USCIS. I got no acknowledgement that they received my new exam and my online status has not changed since September 8th. I even went for an infopass which did me no good at all (those are some tardy useless pple, the officer said she can't give me a status until 9 months after my interview???? Which I found out is BS). I am worried that USCIS will cancel my whole process which we have worked so hard for claiming they never received my new medical exam. How can I get some type of feedback, has anyone ever experienced this? Please help!!!

They dont usually give their names, but the thing is, on the special note she had printed, it looks like her last name was on the notice. I was strongly considering writing to the officer but I am not even sure if thats her last name. This is just so damn ridiculous. What annoys me is that I know some pple who have friends who did those "arranged" marriages and they all have their green cards now. But all of us who are genuine have to be punished for no damn reason.
 
Contrary to popular belief, "arranged" marriages are accepted as bonfide marriages as far as I-130s and K-1s are considered. Now if you are referring to "sham" marriages, then that is different :)

Hi:

Another ignorant officer who clearly doesn't understand how these tests work ---- the X ray test is clearly more accurate. The only reason the skin test is given first is that people are afraid of the effects of X-rays (which in my opinion is probably somewhat overstated, because it is unlikely that someone would suffer harm from one or two X-rays received during life).

Note that many countries, including Australia, ONLY accept the X-ray test for future immigrants, because the skin test can be unreliable.

Yes actually you are right. I meant "fradulent" marriages. There is a difference

May I add, a very stupid officer....She said the skin test is "required." ???? I'm like if it is required, why is there an option for the X-Ray test. Isn't the purpose of the whole darn test to detect tuberculosis? It's soo frustrating because

(1) I can't apply for financial aid until I get my card and I only have 4 classes left to finish up my masters (can't afford the tuition as I switched companies and the one I'm with now doesn't have tuitioin reimbursement
(2) We wanted to travel for our upcoming 1 year anniversary now we cant do that (I don't trust the advanced paroles)
(3) I would hate to have to spend another $175 to renew my EAD card when I have practically finished my whole greencard process. A freakin medical exam holding me up............Just ridiculous, yet there are fraudsters out there marrying everyday and getting their greencards on time.

I agree! We discussed that here a week or so ago. Apparently, your officer is not alone in this. I still can't believe that, but I could be in your situation very soon. :(

I was vaccinated against TB when I was a kid and since then have had a history of positive test results. My doctor, when I told her that, said that it didn't make sense to do the skin test on me, as it would've been positive anyway, and she just sent me to take X-rays.

How is it possible that they won't accept the X-rays alone if that's exactly what they want you to do if your skin test comes back positive anyway!? How does that matter if your skin test is positive or negative if your X-rays (supposedly the final determinant of the presence of the disease) show that you're healthy!?

Sorry, I guess I'm just venting here. I still can't believe that... :mad:

Thanks, as long as you don't get the officer that I had, just a twit of an officer. It's idiots like her that screw up this country's immigration process and hand over the approvals to the wrong pple at the end of the day.

Amen to that! I would also add those idiots who come up with some of those unbelievable regulations... :rolleyes:

Actually its Atlanta..........The officer is a white lady who looks like she's in her late 30's. She wears glasses and has dirty blond hair. Funny thing is she is laid back

You know, now that I think about it, the other person who encounter the same kind of problem was here in Atlanta, too. Maybe it's just that one IO there. I hope I'll get somebody else...

I'm afraid I will just blow up and go off on her. That can't be good... :(
 
Hello, the other person was me. The officer's last name was Nelson. Laid back, white male. I hope it's not an office issue. He did say it would take about another month and a half to get us the green card.

Great, I guess we are in for a long wait.
 
I'm sorry to derail here, but may I ask those of you who had x-rays done for TB-did you have to send them the actual x-ray or was the doctor's word on your medical forms enough? Thanks...

No actual X-rays here. I never even saw the results. The radiology office sent them directly to my Civil Surgeon and then she wrote on the form that everything was fine. She also wrote on my form that I'd had a history of positive skin tests (due to vaccination as a child), so I hope I'll be OK. It's kind of like I had the skin test done--it would've been positive, anyway.

To the two people who have had this problem: were your skin test results positive or negative? You didn't have to get another X-ray afterwards, did you?

It's been 90 days and nothing yet.....What should I do at this point?? These pple have really screwed up alot of plans.
 
Has anyone in my situation gotten any updates? I'm not sure what to do at this point. This is ridiculous
