I have been reading this board and quite honestly am concrened for the future of this country if this is a sampling of future citizens. You can't figure out some simple instructions on a form? Can't figure out how to open a joint bank account? Can't figure out that if the USCIS says "include this letter" with your response for an RFE it means include this letter? And finally, which part of "include copies of documents" don't you people get? Copies means NOT the originals? Can't figure out that you need a co-sponsor if you don't meet the requirement yourself?
Ughhh...
I actually share some of your points and then again, it's not that easy.
Since I can hardly judge the insanity of other people here on this board please allow me to take me myself and I as an example.
I consider myself educated, speak english as a second language quite fluently and read the informations available here and elsewhere on the internet before asking questions. Funny enough, the informations available are not always accurate and helpful, some are being contradictory and the likelyhood of misinterpretation is high.
Take the DMV in my state. How to apply for a DL without having an SSN or an EAD ?
I got 3 different answers from 3 different officers and quite funny, the way they finally had me applying, was the 4th way nobody told me before, let away informations you could find online. So, the question is, how insane is this state agency run by US citizens ?
Take the IRS. How to file taxes jointly without having an SSN or an EAD ?
I got 2 different answers from local officers, another answer from their own FAQ and finally an answer from their Hotline. The last one sounded the most reasonable to me and that's how we finally filed. It wasn't correct either though and it took some time to iron out that entire IRS file. As far as I know there are only USC employed at IRS, a federal agency. How insane are these people ?
The story on how I finally managed to get a bank account, jointly with my wife, is pretty much the same. The more people you ask the more answers you get. I finally talked to this hispanic bank manager, so I don't know about their policy on hiring only US citizens. But funny, this lady gave me a correct info about procedures and requirements. Maybe she was the only one being insane in her bank.
And this was just three episodes of my story. There are gazillion of people out there with different stories and x-fold episodes and they have one thing in common. They want to know what to do and they ask questions. To call them insane is more than just a stretch.
That's why legions of immigration lawyers are contacted and that's, besides other things, is the reason why this forum exists.
So, what is your excuse of being here ?
