Thank God ,I can finally sleep without nightmares, working without negative thoughts, thinking of something might happen..im so relieved today and once again ..prayers and being positive really works!

to all who's still waiting for their oath letter after "Decision can not be made yet" ..just hang on there and be positive and pray..there's always challenges and trials in our lives..but good things happens when you face the ordeal and of course solve the problem as best as you can..

now im in the process of expunging my arrest record, hired already a lawyer and he's working on it now..

one more thing though, would like to reschedule my oath taking as early as this month..how can i reschedule it? can i just walk in and asked them if there's any available spot? and what about my certificate if i take an early date, can they make my certificate on the spot?

anyway, thanks to all forumers who gave me some advices for the last postings..thanks again fellows..;)

dell27,

Congratulations to you on getting the oath letter. I know the feeling of getting the oath letter and then the anxiety of waiting till the oath date. But I would not try to make an effort to request an earlier oath date. Firstly, USCIS will not accept your request easily and secondly you don't want them to reopen/re-analyze your file. just sit tight your dream of being a USC is very close.

Be patient and good luck to you.

Excellent advice! thanks a million..ok i wont rock the boat! patience is a virtue!:) im just excited! but ill do my best to not make any mistakes or stupidity till Oath Day..once again..to all who has not recieve their Oath letter yet, just be positive and hope for the best! good luck to all!

Congratulations! :) You cannot do oath walk-in as they won't have your certificate prepared and won't make one for you on the spot. If you have some special circumstances you could try to schedule an Infopass and see if they are sympathetic to the request. It remains to be seen if they have any earlier date, it is less than a month from now, relax ;)

What missing evidences did you need to send and what follow up letter is it?

What missing evidences did you need to send and what follow up letter is it?

Missing Evidences = it was court docket and police arrest
Follow up letter = just a inquiry asking the progress (no reply from them recieve)

Missing Evidences = it was court docket and police arrest

Why din't you submit that in the first place or brought it to the interview? or
the IO said what you had was noit sufficient and wanted something else
so you had to make extra efforts to get them?

DELL21,
Congrats my friend. I just got a notice in e-mail of change of status on my online statement which is a relief. Otherwise, it has the same statement which shows some blessed winds might be blowing my way. I do hope soon something works out for me too.

Otherwise, stay clear till Oath and after Oath, you can drink till you cannot drink no more. :) :) I am so happy for you. My heart is bouncing every time I check mail and e-mail and today I almost fainted when I saw the message in my e-mail.
Status showed file has been sent to Local office, but I know I am through with that already.

Hang tight bro! everything will be allright..ill call you monday!i think this comin week you better prepared yourself for an emotional happiness when you recieve it..was so emotional when my girlfriend called me at work..i thought we won the lottery coz she was so jolly..then she said Dad the letter we've been praying and waiting for is here now! OATH TAKING BABY!..

i could'nt express my feelings at work, went straight to restroom and prayed most of the day...just could'nt describe the feelings..

What happened was i was'nt able to disclose it in application ..because my mom advise me not to disclose it she said it was dropped and i really never face a trial or court and only got detentioned for about 24 hrs and was released.when we called the court they said i have no records so there wont be any problems..that is why i did'nt disclose it..i know its stupid! i should have not listen to my mom.too bad its too late..

Anyway,in my interview IO asked me if i was ever arrested and stuff..and i said yes Officer i was..and then he asked the details and all and proceed with the exam and signature of the photos..at first i thought it was allright..but then after the exams and all..

i got N-652 which says "can not made decision yet" then he handed me Missing Evidences that i need to send or drop by..:(

IO was young and understanding and very helpful.im thanking him also for being nice and not nosy about it..and the rest are history..you know i think just tell them the truth and be sincere to all questions...they understand...:)

What a relief!!! Congratulations..

Congrats !!
My husband flunked the test on first try, passed 2nd & had his interview in July, the first IO didn't say anything about his county ordinance charge (I told him not to plead guilty) of discharging a firearm w/in city limits. It happened in 2005, the police came 2 hours after the incident, there were others there. The didn't find a gun, although before they learned there was a white girl in the house, they were illegaly searching our truck that was parked in the garage. They didn't read him his rights and arrested him because it was his house. The ticket said 'for discharching or allowing someone to discharge a firearm in city limits'. He initially plead not guilty but the prosecutor kept lowering the fine until it was down to $35. At that point, my hubby decided to plead so he could get back to work. As I said the 1st IO didn't say it was a problem, the attorney that submitted the application said it wasn't a charge that would effect his case.
The 2nd IO (new) said that he would likely Never become a citizen because it involved a gun. I've read the charges that prevent citizenship and they were all felonies.
This was a misdemeanor, it's not illegal to own or fire a gun, it's illegal to do it within city limits. After a short discussion where I pointed those facts out, the said she would hold the case a week or two so that she could see if there was some 'loophole' that would make it possible to approve him. Now we're waiting. Other than that, his record's clean, our last 3 tax returns showed we earned close to $100k, we own our own home and have 2 kids (8 & 9).
Any thoughts as to what's gonna happen with this ?

I don't think such a firearm offense is a CIMT sin it does not involve any intent to use on another person neither do I think it cause a permanent bar to citizenship because it i snot a aggravated felony. But immigration law are tough on fireams offense and clearly say certain firearm offense are deportable

So you have to make sure your husband is not deportable. Strange thing about firearm offense is many firearmoffense are deportable but still admissib;le

She said it didn't affect his permanent resident status and he could still travel.
Are there misdemeanor offenses that can prevent someone from becoming a citizen ?
