Wrong start date after H1 Transfer

I was working for company A till June 16th, 2006 and that H1 is valid till september 30th, 2007. I applied for Transfer through company B on June 3rd and the reciept date is June 13th. Requested start date was june 19, 2006 and I started working from June 19th. I got the approval last week with a start date of October 24th, 2006. Does that mean i was working illegally from June 19th to oct 23rd? Do i have to send the apporval notice back to USCIS for Correction? i am planning to go for stamping next month and wanted to know if this will be a problem.

------------- ask the lawyer who filed H1 transfer and it may be mistake on the form I-129 from lawyer side or mistake on LCA, if it is not mistake of lawyer let the lawyer get it corrected from USCIS.

I kind of doubt that CIS gives start date restrospecitvely. It would be interesting to see if someone got start date which is older than approval date on transfer/extension.
