Working pending H-1B extension

My H-1B expires on 1st Dec, 06. I still have 2 years before I complete my max 6 years. My company is willing to sponsor my extension proces.

In case I file for extension before 1st Dec, can I continue working legally after 1st Dec while my case is still pending? In other words, is it necessary for me to go for premium processing and get an approval before 1st Dec?

All help is greatly appreciated!

--------------let the employer/lawyer file H1 extension NOW or the H1 extension petition must reach USCIS Before I-94 expiry date

-----------not needed, if you plan to go out then you can get H1 extension approved in 15-20 days through Premium Processing

Just one more question: Can I get a new stamp on my passport from Hong Kong (I am an Indian Citizen) or do I need to go to India to get a new stamp? I will be traveling to HKG for work.

you need the H1 EXT approval notice for H1 visa stamping,many are getting from Canada/Mexico or from India. I will not take the risk getting from HKG as that consulate not have much exp with Indian degree/certificates.
