All,

I am Indian citizen and have masters degree from US (completed in 2002) and since then been lin US . I worked on OPT for 7 months. Then I got my H1B visa through one employer and since then changed my employer 2 times(total of 3 h1-b visa till date). I have all paystubs with no gaps etc.
I have been with my current employer for over 15 months.

My problem is that my H1 visa is not stamped till date as I did not travel to India.

Do u guys think now if I go US consulate in canada , I could have problem.. (this is my first h1 stamp) Currently I have F1 visa stamp in passport which I got from India 6.5 years back.

I would really appreciate any advice and info in this regard.

Thanks

You shouldn't. I had my F1 stamped in 97 and then got my H1 in 2000 and went for stamping in 2002.

Rakesh,

Technically you should not have any problems. However read up a bit on this forum to get a better idea. The first time you have your H1-B visa stamped on your passport might be a bit different than subsequent stampings- atleast for most folks from Muslim countries. There is oft a name and background security check that takes anywhere from 4 weeks to 6 months.

Again since you are from India, you should not have any problems. But search the forums for more relevant information just so you are better prepared for any eventualities.

Good luck,

Jawad

There is no exception for India in name check, several other religions guys from India also got name check held up more than a year for visa stamping.
