Will my being out of work and having collected unemployement benefits effect my N400

Due to the adverse economic condition, I have been out of work for a signficant amount of time. By the time I apply for Naturalization I would have collected about 78 weeks of unemployment insurence/ benefits. Will my being not employed or my collecting the benefits hinder my naturalization process ?

You being unemployed and collecting unemployment will not hinder your naturalization process.I was laid off two months into my n400 process. At my interview on October 8th 2009 the IO did ask if im still working.I honestly replied no and he proceeded with how im getting by.I told him i am surviving on the little that i have and im also collecting unemployment. And that was it.I walked out Newark DO a proud "unemployed US Citizen".So have no fear and good luck.

I have been unemployed longer than you, and I haven't been collecting unemployment benefits. I have been living on savings (I had good jobs and saved a lot). I am hoping I will have a job prior to my interview. I am also concerned. Let us know how it goes.
