Will H1B application impact GC processing for L1?

Hello!

I am currently working in the US on an L1A with Company A which has agreed to start the green card process for me in a few months time.

In the meantime, company B wants to apply for a H1B for me in Mar 2008.

My questions are:
1. Will the H1B application get rejected because of the green card processing?

2. Will the Green Card application be impacted because of the H1 application?

I am trying to finalize whether I should apply for a H1 or whether it will cause problems with the processing of my greencard.

Any help would be appreciated.

you may want to not apply for H visa at this time

As L1A visa holder, with Company A's green card process pending, you may want to not apply for H visa at this time.

You should work for the Company A before the I-1485 approval, which takes long time to get approval. You should work for the same employer, or a subsidiary, or affiliate of the firm or corporation or other legal entity by which the alien was employed abroad, before you get the Green Card. They can not file H1 in March. Earliest they can do is April 1.
