Will GC application affect my H1B status?

I would appreciate any comments on this. I have received a NL case number 2008EU14XXX and I am going to go for CP. In case there is a problem with my GC application, would that affect my H1B status? My H1B expires in 2009. Also in case I don't get an interview, would that affect a tranfer of my H1B to a new employer?
