Will forensic science job positions be eligible for TN status

Hi,

I am a Canadian who has studied in South Africa (I am getting USA credential equivalency). I hold a Masters in Biomedical Forensic Science.

I would like to apply to jobs in the USA in hopes that I can obtain TN status. Does anyone know if the following types of jobs may be eligible?

- Coroner Forensic Technician
- Medicolegal Death Investigator
- Forensic Assistant

Thank you!

Perhaps under the scientific technologist TN category. This one might require a consult with a TN-expert immig lawyer.

Thanks nelsona,

The more i do my research the more it seems an immigration lawyer will be best! Sadly finding one while I am still here in South Africa might prove to be tricky (I'd like to meet with one personally to address all issues).

It would be silly to try and find such a lawyer locally, since TN does not apply to RSA. Contact one in US or Canada as they would be the only ones familiar with TN. Never a need to meet face-to-face.

Other than WES, who else is a well-known and recognised credential evaluation service for TN purposes? Josef Silny?

I remember reading in another post you saying that it is a mistake to use CES instead of WES?

And even though CES website says it is used for Canadian Immigration, is it accepted for US TN-visa? I just don't see this on their site.

My reasoning behind not wanting to use WES is that the institution needs to send the documents themselves, which South African Universities are not very willing to help with.

Yes, the CES site does not mention their evaluations being for TN purposes, only mentions Canadian Immigration purposes.
