Will fingerprints be deleted after naturalisation?

I am just thinking about all the times our fingerprints were collected when we were aliens. Do these records get deleted after we naturalise, since the fingerprints of citizens are not taken unless they are booked by police? I guess some DMVs have fingerprints.

Anybody know the story here? I think I read that the UK (claims to) delete fingerprint and other biometric data once an alien becomes a British citizen.

I would be very surprised if they delete the fingerprints at any point--however the "Biometric Storage System" described in that link appears not to have been implemented in the form described there--a Google search on "Biometric Storage System" turns up only a few hits all from around that period in 2007. However I would be very surprised if they didn't keep the fingerprints in some form.
