Wife's Last name change while application pending??

Hi all,

I am on F-1 married to USC (my wife) in december.
If my wife change her last name to my last name. will this affect the application in any way??? we filled out all forms according to her maiden name.

any input will really help us allot.

Should not make a difference. Make sure you update the I-485 at the time of the interview. Your wife would need proof of name change. Make sure her SSN card and DL are updated before the interview.

just one more thing, you mentioned that I should update I 485 at the time of interview. or should I inform USCIS as soon as all official document will have changed name.

do you think all this name change thing will slower the process of interview??:eek:

You can wait until the I-485 interview since this is a sponsor name change and not a beneficiary name change. Thus no name check issues with a name change.
It should have no effect on the processing time in my opinion.
