Hello everyone. We are scheduled for the interview at Garden City on the 20th of November. We moved to NY about 2 years ago. My wife stays attends community college in NY also. But the problem is she never changed her driving license from NJ to NY.
My questions is, does it matter if my wife shows a DL from NJ and I show a DL from NY. Her NJ DL has an address that is still valid, as it is her parents address where we both resided in the past.

Any input in this matter will be highly appreciated

I don't know the answer to your immigration question but in many states it is required that you notify DMV of change of address within 10 days of the change.

my IO didn't care that I had a driver's license from MO, after being in Georgia for 2+ years. I told her it was a hassle to change it while on AOS status, and she agreed with me.

I read a case where a couple were rejected at an interview because they both had different addresses an their DL, so it is in your best interest to have your wife change her address to where you guys live in newyork, because from what i read about that couple, the IO did not believe they were living together.

Yes it makes a huge difference especially since the license is from neighboring states. I did not change my FL license to NY and my IO gave me real hard time. It's easier to prove/believe that you do live together when the states listed on the id are miles apart.

I gave the same reason to my IO for not changing over my license as per LucyMO and he said he would have to investigate it- he took his time in doing so.

Get a NY license inidicating the same address where you both live.

It's not complicated to get a new one. It would be ideal if both of you have the same address on the DL. You guys should have done that when you moved, even though I understand why you didn't. The IO might not be as understanding. The least you have for them to pick on you the better.
This is the link for your wife to get her NY DL http://www.nydmv.state.ny.us/license.htm#driversmoving

it depends on the states. Some states will not consider AOS pending as a status and will only give you a DL for the duration of your EAD. I wasn't about to give up my 10 year license for a 1 year license with a "wonderful" obligation to renew it every year.

Thanks all of you for your replies. Here my wife the USC had a NJ license. We went to the DMV today. In NY, they give you a temporary document without a photo and then mail the DL with the photo id. The people in the DMV said it might take about 3 weeks for the document to reach me which is after the interview.
This makes our situation even more confusing. Now we dont know if we have to even bother applying for a NY license or not!!!!

Don't worry u'll get it before the 20th of nov. i got mine within 8days, at the most u'll have it within 2wks. Goodluck.
