Why very few I485s from India are getting approved

IN the month of October, very few Indians in EB1 I485 stage have been approved. The ones who got approved are mostly those that applied late last year or early this year.
Most approvals in EB1 I have heard from a couple of big lawyer offices are from EB1 ROW

Any guesses why?

Why is USCIS so slow for EB1s when the dates are current?
Should they not care for the EB1s more than any others if they want to retain world's top talent?

Yes I am also wondering why there are few EB1 -485 approvals. First thing is do all those who waiting call up USCIS and make sure NC is completed. Are there any hurdles once NC is cleared unless there is any RFE hanging around?

Even after NC is complete, they are very slow in processing I485s. Somehow all Indians are clubbed together and we are made to wait until ROW EB1 clears out. This is because lot of people are now applying in EB1 from India and per country limit is kicking in. India has barely managed to stay current nevertheless.

Why cant all EB1s unite and ask the authorities and congress to help them?

This is good idea. USCIS should clear all those I-485 files as soon as they are done with all checks -NC, FP etc... Why they make everyone to wait and club together

Pswami, what is your status? EB1, EB2, LC filed / approved, 140 filed / approved, 485 filed / approved, filing citizenship... ? Just curious why you brought up this issue?

Hi everyone,

I can share the anxieties of everyone on this thread - I am an Oct 30th, 2006 filer of EB1 I-485. My I-140 was approved in July 2007 (sorry, the exact data isn't in hand!). I called using the POJ technique and was told two weeks ago that it was 'on an adjudicator's desk' and that I should 'wait two weeks' - So NC/BC is clear (allegedly!) - WAITING is sooooo hard!

My sympathies to all of us!

I know of a person whose !40 is approved since last year and applied I485 in October 2006 and still waiting, despite being a top person in his field and in EB1EA.
It is sad that people who applied in October have not got it yet. INS should do premium processing for people who qualify in top category.
