Denial (this isn't happening to me!)
****somehow i did not go through this phase....having been unlucky all my life....i kind of have low expectation from everything...
- Anger (why is this happening to me?)
***I usually blame my bad luck and move on....or swear at uscis incompetency and my bad luck that i am dependent on this immigration to get a life....
- Bargaining (I promise I'll be a better person if...)
***i have not done this......whom do u bargain with....god...i am a non-believer...so never did this..
- Depression (I don't care anymore)
***have gone through this
- Acceptance (I'm ready for whatever comes)
***I am unable to do this....but i hope i will get adjusted to this.....since it looks like a infinite wait....
Like UN said, many have passed one or more of these stages...

in my case....i just keep working on alternatives......and feel tired in between.......i do feel disgusted that we are being dependent on this shit immigration system......

only if we free ourself....and learn to live with whatever we have we would have been so happy.......

but its easy to talk.......when it comes to action.....i am still choosing to go through this ordeal...........right now stuck in name check (only 4 months since 485.....but its a 4 long months....since employer is an idiot)........and i have seen people waiting since 36 months....stuck in name check........scary.....

if not for my extended family being so dependent on me.......i would have had some financial independence by now.......

there it is.....after this venting......i am ready for more from uscis....

People used to cry about the processing date. In 2003 It only said 999 days to process an I-485 because USCIS only had a 3 digit field. In reality, it was longer than that.

Now the processing dates are around 6 months, because SOOOOO many people complained that 999+ days is not acceptable. They made it 6 months and started enforcing the priority date instead.

Pick your evil....the red pill or the blue pill? The lesson here is be careful what you wish for, and remember, it can always be worse if you get what you wanted.

Well said

I agree with you 100%. But that is how ii is, people being sabotage by this Immigration thing. We cant blame them for crying though, if that is what let them feel comfortable! This immigration thing is a mess, with a Congress at its worst!

Just wait till the next bulletin. They'll need industrial strength mops to wipe off the tears around here. There'll be enough conspiracy theories to fill a book. Merits of all alternate places to go (Canada, UK, Japan, Bhutan, etc.) will be discussed as if they were just discovered. There'll be lamenting about substitution, exploiting employers, liar lawyers, unemployed spouses, full-fee paying college students and insensitive politicians.

Have no worry. Just wait for a week or two. All the action will return on its monthly schedule like clockwork. This is the calm before the storm :)

6 month mandate ..

george,

Good to see your post after such a long absence. I agree with what you say but the one missing piece of information is that the 6 month processing time frame was mandated by Bush when he first got elected. He had promised that by 2006, people would get their GCs within 6 months. I guess DHS, USCIS and DOL made it happen. Every service center date is more or less within 6 months. How did this magically happen .. lets not even go there :) :)

thera33,

Well said. Last I checked, this was a free forum and if it makes some people feel better to vent and cry then so be it. It is a little to insensitive and arrogant of some to act as though they are beyond legitimate human emotions. I guess its just another way to handle the stress. Some choose to cry while others try to act as though they are so logical and superior in their mindset and "practical" emotions that nothing moves them. Both conditions are a little unrealistic but very legitimate reactions to stressful situations.

EB3 Row Status Quo!! Saras any insight ?

Hi, like many of you I’ve been stuck in GC process since the late 90’s & have been long time reader of this forum & others but never dared to participate. Why now ?…. My frustration has grown crescendo by now I need to vent out.

Saras and/or UN, I’d welcome your expert opinion of the latest EB3 Row movement (or lack of movement!!!). I understand that nobody has a clear understanding of PD progress but what would be your best guess as to why the freaking past 3 bulletins did not show any movement for EB3 Row (all clues & guesses suggested that EB3 Row should keep moving forward). It is a few months away from reaching my PD & suddenly it stops again while it was progressing 1 to 2 month per month.

Sorry if this Q is Row specific but ultimately other regions should benefit from all Row being current.

Cheers

Yep. that's how it is. And... there's nothing wrong with it. I'm just giving a humorous reply to the original question about why there is no crying any more. A smile never hurts. I never said people shouldn't do it or there's anything wrong with it. Just stating what has been observed in past.

Somebody else found it "a little to insensitive and arrogant of some to act as though they are beyond legitimate human emotions". It made me burst out with laughter. Man, it's amazing how much people put int their own minds while reading posts. I owe thanks for the laugh.

Glad it made your day but I think you misunderstood. My comment was not targeted at you in particular, it was just a general observation based on the cumulative replies of this thread and many others dealing with such issues.

wweb3,

Sorry but I have no idea. These days I do not even attempt to make sense of this stuff.
