Why hasn't the processing time updated?

They last updated it on 8/18/2004. Which was kind of surprising, since they updated it only 3 days after the middle of the month (8/15). It used to take them anywhere from 7 to 10 or in some cases even 12 days. Last update was the fastest I've ever seen.

I'd be really surprised though if anyone on this forum would know the exact reason why it hasn't been updated. I guess most people really would be more interested in why their cases have not been approved. :)

Hang on guys .. I had update on last friday from my local congressman abt processing time , when i requested for one of my friend case . when they update next time the date may move to Jan '03

By Sept 2004 it should be Feb 2003

They will need to do it to meet their backlog reduction plan. i.e. 19 months by Sept 30,2004.

How does it matter for pending longtime waiters such as myself? Posting processing times is just number gimmicks. Just approve few case(s) having latest RD. By doing so does not mean they've cleared the backlogs.
 
next update JAn 03, its eyewash

Hi Friends .
Don't go with the dates. Its only an eye wash. They are alot of people waiting from March/June/July 02 cases for approvals. They have extented to 2nd FP and 3rd EAD approval. Not to discourge but thats what is happening.

I read a post earlier today on I-140 forum, which made alot of sense. The year end is approaching for the government, Sept.30, so these people must be busy with their adminstrative stuff: budgest etc. The dates, however meaningless, would probably get updated in the first week of Oct.

I wish I get my salary from the Govt. For everything they have a lame excuse..Don't they? Either year end, FY begining, etc etc etc...
 
I contacted my Senator on friday and today they said USCIS is processing September 02 cases and I will have to wait. My RD is Dec 02. So I guess their clain of August 26 will not move to Jan 03 in the next update. It probably will move to Sept or OCt.

FWIW, the processing date for I-485's has moved forward 192 days over the last 4 updates (over the course of 56 days) for an average of about 3.43 days of movement per day.

This is assuming a lot, but, based on those numbers, we could reasonably expect the date to move by 3.43 x N (where N is the number of days since the last update, now 26 and counting). i.e., if the date was updated later today (N=26), the date could move by 89 days which would bring it to about 11/26/02.

Who knows whether the trend of the last 8 weeks will continue though... :(
