While applying for L2 visa, what is minimum validity required from the principal applicant on L1?

I am L1 visa holder and my L1 expires Sep 15, 2009. My spouse will be applying for L2 after our marriage and visa date is May 12, 2009. Effectively we would be here with me for 4 months only.

Is there a clause that states that for an L2 application to be processed, the validity of L1 should be more than 6 months?

Please respond. this is urgent. also post me some links which does have this info.
