Where-oh-where has I-485 gone? Oh where oh...?

My fellow alien heads: Where on earth are the 1-485 applications being processed? Mine was sent from NewYork to Missouri Service Center in late Dec. I've checked timelines for so many service centers on the USCIS website and I can't find family based I-485's anywhere and, even if I do see a timeline for a random center, how am i to know my application is among the pile. They have no info for me at the 1-800#. They just say - "oh it's in Missouri" - but uh....I don't see it there - do you?
(My 1-765 is moving along nicely.)
But where oh where has my 485 gone??

all I-485 have to go to MSC for preprocessing. This question has been covered many times in this forum.

well i apologize for the annoyance

Thanks for responding LucyMo - but i'm still confused -pre-processing? but what about processin? yes my app went to MSC I know that - but if it went there for PREprocessing - where does it go after? Are we not allowed to know?
Cause I searched for the answer extensively before I posted the question, on other websites too, and I couldn't find one - nor did the reps at the 1-800# have any answers for me - unless who i spoke to was incompetent. Are I-485's just not trackable online until you happen to get a letter in the mail about something?
I haven't been on this forum for a million years so unfortunately, after I searched through the threads and found no answers after over 30 mins and then calling USCIS for another 20 - I simply posted the question and hoped someone would not reprimand me because of my insufficient search skills.

After initial processing is completed at MSC, it will either be transferred to your local office for final adjudication and interview, or to the California Service Center ffor adjudication without interview.

I'm unclear as to how you want to "track" your I-485. If it gets transferred to CSC, you will get an email, you won't if it gets transferred to your DO.
