Hey Lazar, happy birthday.
I wish you a good year with the best lucks.
You should call USCIS and enquiery about your case, just call them and tell them that you case is out of processing time, I think in most cases it will work. I got something back after almost two weeks and then after two months back and forth approval. in your case it should be a lot faster since your case is really old. Call them today and tell them to file an enquiery on your case. To connect to a person, call the 1-800# and then press 1 for Eng. and the rest of them 2 and you have to wait in line and then you will talk to them,
Last time I called he was really helpful, so call them.
Even if you have filed anything that force them to persue you case, you should call them atleast once a month and let them know again.
Goodluck man, Your jurney will be over soon.

Nas

Well name check is after your FP are cleared. Every applicant has a name check. His/her name is sent to worldwide databases, from interpol to CIA watch lists to FBI lists to your local county police office. IF suppose your name is very common, a live human being has to follow it through to make sure the person in question is not you.

Thats why lots of people get stuck in "name check". If suppose, you witness an accident and are a witness by the prosecution or defense, your name is a "hit" and a live person has to check to make sure what is it about.

Also lets say someone sues you, that also requires a human check of your name and the details.

Hmmm... I have moved a lot since filing for I-485 in Oct 2000 (about 4 times) and that is probably why it is taking too long... I have had no litigation or anything like that but if they contact local police authorities, then they must be contacting 4 different states that I have lived in.
