When will I get my citizenship?

I got the GC through political asylum (category: AS6). The card says, Resident since: 4/24/06
On the USCIS website, my case status online mentions a date one year after this date:
On April 27, 2007, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS.

I just want to confirm that my residency started on the earlier date mentioned on the card, 4/24/06 - is that correct?

Also, I assume I can apply for citizenship on the date 5 years have passed sinced my residency - correct? That will be 4/2011. And the last question: how long does it take to get it, after I apply?

As an asylee, your GC is backdated one year, so you get that year 'free.' So, you can apply in 2011, correct. You can apply upto 90 days before 4/24/2011, but how long it takes depends on how many applications they get that year, and in which district you are.
 
Thanks a lot! How much time would you say does it take typically to get the citizenship on average?
 
The usual time frame is 6-12 months. But some people get it in as little as 3 months, and a few people are still waiting after 3 years.
